Ok I have tried looking all over the internet but Google is getting worse all the time and auto corrects my searches now so I can't seam to find anything anymore.

I am sorry if I am just asking a question up front, I know a lot of forums hate that but damn it google being so stupid I have to ask someone who might have an answer.

Way back when I was a kid and this game was new I was obsessed, to the point I bought ever gaming magazine that had even a mention of anything relating to Mortal Kombat, and I seam to remember reading somewhere that in the very first game, the original arcade version if you played 100 battles in 2 player mode it would allow you to play a round of Pacman. I know that in MKII you can play Pong as I have done this, it took forever but I did it using Gamecube MK Arcade Treasures II, and I know in MK3 you can play Galaga if you enter a code, but I can not find any confirmation if you really can play Pacman in the first MK game or not. I do not have any arcade version to test this out on currently, I had Midways Arcade Treasures but for some stupid reason MK1 was not included and I have no way of testing so does anyone out there who has any of the arcade versions ever tested this or is it one of those myths that arose because of the images in the court yard?

I'm unsure about the early arcade port but in the home console iterations you cannot play Pac-Man in Mortal Kombat 1 or in any other installation.Tip: It's to seem not to seam.

sorry I need clarification, when you say not in the console versions do you mean the old SNES/SEGA ports or the modern arcade classics collections etc? I already know it does not work in Genesis, Super NES and Sega CD because I have spent hours trying over and over to no avail. I just do not have access to the original arcade version so that was what I was really asking about.

There's no Pac-Man in any home console version be it SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube nor in GameBoy or other pocket consoles. With a 95% chance I could confirm you that neither did the arcade version have Pac-Man but I'm not fully positive on that because we had only a Mortal Kombat II arcade cabinet around where I lived – no MK, MK3 or MK4. It is possible to modify the computer inside the cabinet to have extra games that wouldn't normally be included like Tetris or just anything. I could say it was either that or (probable) just a rumor.

Well I read about it an EGM, I am positive about that, I had every issue they published relating to MK so it could have been a joke or a misprint or like you said just a rumor. But it was not something I heard I read it in EGM when MK was still hot in arcade, it was right around the time MKII was announced so an issue in that area. I can't remember if it was in the tips and tricks section or in one of the articles they are on the game itself. But they said if you played 100 battles in 2 player mode, talking about the arcade version the home ports were not out yet I don't think or were just about to come out maybe anyways they very specifically were talking about the arcade game and MKII had not even been released yet it was announced but not much was known at that time, so I know it was not in response to PONG being in MKII because that was not revealed pre-release.

I know it would not be in any PORTS of the game, as things like that were always removed form the ports even PONG in MKII is removed from most ports. I was asking about the Arcade roms included in the collections on PS2 and the like. I only had Arcade Treasures for GC and MKI was not included for some stupid reason. The others were not ports at all they were the arcade roms emulated on the GC hardware. I knew it would have to be removed, if true, from ports because Midway does not have console rights to Pac-Man they only had arcade rights, and limited ones at that. I would test it myself but thats 25 bucks minimum on a real machine and if its removed from all ports that just leaves mame and I am no expert on mame.

The only reference to Pac man in the game is above the door entrances carved out in the Courtyard stage. Just an Easter egg. I owned the MK 1 arcade T-Unit revision 5.0 for years and tested every trick and went through the game audits and played against Reptile, etc. I got 100 wins in a row in a 2 player game. The only question I ever had was 'who is CRL'? #1 on the points list was always CRL if you rebooted the arcade.

The only thing with logic that comes to my mind is "Carlton" – it's Johnny Cage's real surname, the guy who was supposed to be the protagonist of the game and series originally, depicting Jean-Claude Van Damme.
John Carlton wants to be the #1 by any means necessary it appears.

Carlton...Nice. I'll accept that answer. As for PacMan, I went on a 110 game winning streak on mk 1 Arcade rev 5.0 T-Unit and NOTHING. So whoever wants to keep testing be my guest but I don't have the patience to test 200 or more wins, even on freeplay. Next...
