Rain in UMK3?

Hey, is Rain umk3 i was watching the intro of the game and they show rain.I know that theres only 3 hidden slots on the select and there mileena, ermac,classic subzero.Was he suppose to be in the game and they took him out?

I know Rain was on the SNES and Genesis versions of UMK3. I don't think he was in the arcade or other versions though.

All the home versions that he is in he is just a regular character on the select screen.
