I second this notion. Rain is not an evil person, just scared at one point.

Where real Rain fans aren't we? Well Rain may be currupted for working for Shao Kahn, but he is not evil. He is similar to Jade. They both are Edenian, and both worked for Shao Kahn. But Rain though of his own life, rather than helping Kitana like Jade did. Rain is not beyond redemtion, as he can still fight for his home realm. My guess is that he is locked somewhere in a Edenian prison.

IMO, I definetly dont think of Rain as a joke in the least bit. He was one of the most intimidating characters on MK Trilogy.

He was powerful to use in MKT because he was broken. I think what MK2Kung Broken is getting at is the fact that his creation was a joke. A purple ninja named rain, Purple Rain, relating to a love of Prince. Rain is in the graveyard, since Prince's career had faded, and all that jazz.

Yes Mr. Ermac does not exist. We know that Rain was a joke character, but it still stands he was powerful in MKT.

And quite weak ompared to top tier fighters. But thats not the point.
He can be only renewed if he:
-he either dies and gives a plotline boost to someone,
-or comes back entirely changed, maybe even with a new name

Rain's brokenness made him pretty damned deadly. You could get so much off of the lightning, rainball, or the roundhouse, and the infinites that resulted were very easy to get. He is one of the truly broken characters of MKT, which is one of the reasons I greatly dislike him and think he counts as a bannable character from any potential tournament play.

Rain is evil! He betrayed Edinia to serve under Shao Kahn. He is such a wuss. The only reason this wimp did what he did was becuse he did not want to be killed by Shao Kahn's men! WUSS!

The main reason why Rain is so broken is everything he has except his punch combo leads into his infinite, so you have constant renewed chances to get it, off his roundhouse, the kick combo which ends with the roundhouse, the lightening, the rainball, all of it is containment. The lightening shouldn't have a bounce effect, it should knock them away like a roundhouse, and it should also have enough recovery time so if you block it from half screen you can run in and counter like an Ermac lift. Balance is so easy when you just think for a few seconds. His cross screen roundhouse should be completely removed altogether and if they wanted to give something like that to him that badly, make it a move, like back back HK and have the roundhouse animation go in reverse, same exact properties, and only one per combo.
