I give regular MK3 an 8 for being a major innovator in the MK series, bringing about true, fast, tight gameplay. Then 10s would go to UMK3 and MKT for taking a great fight engine and upgrading it to something greater.

Just keep in mind that I am not grading on fatalities or amounts of blood or anything like that. The gameplay shouldnt be ignored as much as it often is.

I love MK3. Sometimes more than UMK and MKT. I love playing MK3 competitively and UMK3 and MKT when I want to do combos. MK3 has a slower pace. I've never really been good at faster games like Super Turbo so that's probably why. I like planning what I'm going to do. The jump in punches and kicks to combos are just too cheap. I like them in MK4 though. Blah it's hard to explain. My rating is a 10. Same for 1, 2, 4, and 5.

I love Mk3. It was the firts mk I ever had, the gameplay was the best compared to Mk1 and Mk2. I liked the fatalities and IMO the story was awesome! I only missed 2 things: Cage and the oriental evil feeling Mk1 and Mk2 had.

I give it a 5, just for the storyline. It had the best story out of all the MKs. But the gameplay sucked.

I give it a 10. I loved it and played it many times when it 1st came out back in 95. I think it made everything from the past MKs better.

I was just wondering, what do you think was bad about the gameplay? Do you prefer the defensive nature of MK2 opposed to the aggressive nature of MK3, Ultimate and Trilogy?

I just didn't like the feel of it compared to the other MKs, that's all.

MK3 and it's upgrades are the best games in the series. The fast paced gameplay rules and the juggling is fun and a lot more open ended than II. The post armageddon look of the game is cool and the story is one of my favorites in any game. Stryker and Kabal are two of my all time favorite MK characters.
