Just what the subject is asking.
Were the reasons for the long wait on this game because...

John Tobias leaving Midway?

Or was it b/c of MK Annhilation being a failure and destroying the MK franchise?

MK5 was supposed to come out in 2000. But Tobias left, and the project was cancelled. Then at the end of 2001, Boon was like, "We gotta make MK5!" So they did. That's the answer!

Hum...I really don't think that's it. I dont think that's it at all. Didn't MKGold come out in 2000? And Tobias left during special forces, not during MKDA. So I'm pretty sure you, sir, are WRONG.

heres the real answer why. All the improvements in 3D graphics, all the coffins, and all the rest on the improvememts was the real reason why.

No Zentile, here's where it says. It's in the second paragraph. You think you know everything. http://www.gamespot.com/gamespot/features/video/hist_mortalk/p25.html

I think they would've waited unil they could do their best work. Some people will say that MK1 and 2 were the best versions for X number of reasons. People are entitled to their opinions. Sure, some people still think that wolfenstein was fps perfection but games evolve and as technology gets better developers want their work to be all that it can be so whining about which version is better is a waste of time.

In my opinion Gold was to test the water to see if people would still want to buy the games in order for them to make a profit. Then they would try to bring the series back to it's old glory.
