Reference Ermac in Mortal Kombat 1 (don't hate this thread)

Okay, so I realize that the Ermac thing in MK1 has been done to death, talking about it, looking for him, yea, whatever. Ok so what I'm about to propose is just something that came to mind, don't know if anyone else thought this up already so I apologize if it has been done. Here goes: since the upcoming Mortal Kombat: Deception Player's Pack or collector's edition, whatever you wanna call it, is gonna have Mortal Kombat 1 (yes, I know it says "Arcade Perfect" version), but what if the designers stick Ermac in this game just to mess with people's minds for eternity? I think that might be a pretty cool way to wrap-up an almost age-long discussion concerning a character that was definitely not in MK1 but everyone wanted to be. So, now that it's been said, let the ranting begin! Seriously though, anybody else follow me on this? Anybody think the designer's may do it in the end just to add one more tidbit of mythology into the Mortal Kombat universe? In the end, if nobody likes this thread, just close it and I'll meditate and pray long and hard before I come on here and post anything ever again. Thanks.

I think it would be cool as hell if they made it so all punches on the Warrior Shrine, double flawless, fatality infront of Goro's statue did it lol.

It kinda taints the "arcade perfect" line, but i think it would be pretty cool, provided it was hard to find him.
By the way, take it easy mate. I know you don't want to get flamed for being new, but if you don't act like an idiot (and you clearly aren't) then people won't kick up dust in your threads. If they DO act like wankers because you're new, just inform a moderator.
Welcome to the site too.

I hope they do do that. Because if people discover how to reach him and can do it everytime, and then go try it on the arcade version and realize he's not there, it'll finally shut up everyone who thinks he's existed in the arcade version all this time.

I wonder if they will do it, but he is like IMPOSSIBLE to find. Make it so maybe like 10% of the people who buy MAT2 ever find him. I think it's a really cool idea...

I think that would be badass and have an explainitaion for him hiding in the first mortal kombat, but will midway, Ed Boon, and John Tobias do that? Probably not. Also i wish that reptile could be obtainable.

Speaking of which, I know there are other posts and sources saying that Boon speaks of secrets in MK1 and he says Ermac was involved in the first Mortal Kombat (not saying he was in the game, but storywise he was supposed to be an observer, this was on gamefaqs.com some guy wrote a plot history citing this) but I'm sure someone like Boon and what developers there are would see an opportunity here to do something that would intrigue the Mortal Kombat populace of gamers. Just a thought.

Fact:
All storyline created for Ermac was made after the rumors were started, by the fans, based upon the rumors, worked around him not actually being there, at all, in any way shape or form.

True, but if Boone is willing to go along with it, it wouldn't matter if it were rumor or not. He and the developers of the game can do whatever they want, I'm sure we all know that, but basically I think it's just fun to think that they may do something like this, that's all.

It's an interesting idea, but it would make for a lot more work for the development team. And it really wouldn't make all that much sense to do it anyway. ERror MACro was/is either a system glitch, or just a complete myth. So it's best to leave it at that.
It would make for a cool extra though, I will say that.

I was born one year before MK1 so I had no hope of playing the arcade version but I just have one question. Did anyone see Ermac in MK1 before UMK3. If they did, If they mentioned it before the game was released, then there is a little proof. I don't have a clue. I never played Arcade MK1, all I know is that some thing he was there, some don't and does anyone have a screen shot of him, that isn't a fake.

NO, Ermac was definintely not in MK1 the game, and before anyone attempts to continue the discussion of that I want to go ahead and stop it, because that thread was already posted and already ended. Thanks for complying with this request. This thread is just for those who wanna speculate on what the designers might want to do with the "arcade perfect" version of MK1 that is going to be on the collecter's edition of MK: Deception.
I did wanna reply to what was said just a couple of posts before, which is that I didn't realize either way how much work may have to be done to install Ermac onto MK1, in my mind I assumed it might not be too difficult considering the possibility of a glitch that they could "work" with, pretty much creating something that would be a concrete secret, not a glitch, which was what some of the earlier posts mentioned. You wouldn't have an Ermac character profile, no selecting him on the player screens, just the "fixed glitch" possiblity that you would get the opportunity to fight him. That in essence is what I thought of Ermac being in MK1, but I admit again that I have no clue how easy or difficult it'd be to do that.

It seems like it wouldn't be too much work. Just create the pallet to swap to.
It would add to the labor of it if they put ERMAC or something like that into the energy bar since those are images that must be stored somewhere, but other then that it'd prolly be easy.
