The only to get it to always work is through timing, trying doing an attack before morphing back and flashing specifically to get Shang to turn tan and green.

anyways if your into glitching try this one out.

beat the game on novice, pick the prize that lets you fight h. smoke and classic sub. lose on the third round. choose your destiny after you lose, you will be fighting the two of them on super hard difficulty even tho it has someone elses picture.
win.
after that fight you will move onto the next opponent, usually its Kano no matter what the picture is, beat Kano and the game will reset.

also heres another one.

do the same as before only this time pick to fight ermac as your prize. lose the first round then beat him the next 2 rounds. do a mercy, hit him to finish him off, then let him stand there until he falls over, dont do a fatal or anything, you will get a free credit.
