Okay, you got to admit that their is some goofiness in the past MK games. For example the Animalities. Scorpions for example, was a penguin, WTF get rid of that. Also, the modern day. That was stupid, I mean in the first MK games you see feudal lands, and BOOM! you see in MK3 modern day with cities and subways. No . . . No, No! That does not fit MK's persona, MK was meant to be a mythical ancient game, not modern day.
Does anyone else feel the same? If anyone else has any goofs in the past games, please put them in this thread . . . they need to be addressed.

Mortal Kombat was always set in modern day. Johnny Cage the movie star. Sonya Blade, the Army officer. Kano, the criminal.
The settings looked ancient because in MK1 they were on Shang Tsung's private island and in MK2 they were in Outworld.
Personally, I have no problem with some modern aspects in Mortal Kombat.

Have the classic MK's modified, hmm... Naah. Why fix something that isn't broken, better yet, why turn the actually good generations of MK into a pile of shit such as DA and Deception? Those games were in the past and they should remain as they were.
And by the way, do you not even know the story behind MK3 and why there were cities? Damn... Kahn trying to take over Earthrrealm... Ring any bells?

I guess you can say that. I really don't have a "major" problem with it either. Personally, I always saw MK as an ancient mythical times game. In the first MK, I thought Sonya was an martial artist in the arcades. But when I got it for home systems, I saw that she was a Special Forces agent. I always saw Kano as a pirate figure, that did not use guns but knives. Also, I thought that Johnny Cage was just a martial artist, and not a movie star . . . until I got the home system version. Again, that doesn't really bother me. It would have been better if MK3 was set in Feudal Earthrealm, like in Deception, not modern city day. Some of the Animalities annoyed me too, such as Scorpions, what on earth does a penguin have to do with Scorpion, let alone MK. They need to brush up on some stuff, like the Animalities, if you know what I mean.

I don't think the Animalities were supposed to be part of the mythology. They're kind of jokes, like the Friendships and Babalities. It was just there way of answering to some of the rumours from MK2. I remember playing MK2 in the arcade when it first came out and hearing all the rumours about the different Fatalities that turned out to be B.S. More than once did I hear about Animalities, Bruatalities, The "Assist" Fatalities, and so on. That's pretty much the only reason they're in MK3.
And they had no reason for being in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. But that movie sucked anyway.

The classics shouldn't be changed in my opinion. If anything, they should be fixed, such as glitches and stuff like that, but as far as changing someones fatality or animality, wouldn't be done.
The reason why some people, like Scorpion and Reptile, had weird animalities, was because MK3 was when animalities first came about. Sheeva already had the scorpion as her animality, so it wouldn't have made since to give two people the same animality.
Although I would agree to have a remake of a classic, such as MK1, 2, and 3, with modern graphics and stuff. Then, the problems with Animalities and fatalities could be changed and made more proper to the characters.

Exactly, Sheeva should not have an animality, she is already an animality if you ask me. Also, I am not talking about going back and remaking the arcades and old games, but what you said: have a remake with modern graphics and removing all the goofiness. They should be "fixed" in most aspects. Get rid of the dumb nonsense glitches. Fatalities should not be remade, Annimalities should, things to that sort. Everything should be made to fit MK's persona: mythical/ancient times. Like if I had to remake an MK, I would remake MK3. I would make the invasion of Kahn take place in a present feudal China (or Japan for that matter) Earthrealm. It would fit MK's persona a lot better.
