I would have to say buy MK: DA 1st before you get MK6. The reason why I think so is A. MK6 will use 50% of MK: DA's fighting engine and there will be some similar stuff in the engine that it will use. Once you get use the fighting engine on MK: DA you can focus all your time getting a hold of the other half of the new fighting engine. B . MK: DA is only $19.99 on all 3 consoles. I am sure that won't take a big bite out of your pocket. Also to me MK: DA is the best MK yet!!!!!!

I agree with Frost4584. I still play MKDA almost every day. IMO it's the most fun MK game to play so far. From the looks of it, MKD's gameplay will be a little more complex than MKDA's, and having a good general feel for the new fighting system will be a big help.
Also, an important trend in MK is the fact that the plot has been getting deeper than it previously was. There are a lot of small facts revealed between the bios, Konquest, and endings of each character, and if the story is part of the reason you like MK, it's good to know all the little nuances of it so A. you have a better understanding of the big picture, and B. you won't have to make any posts asking stupid questions about why a certain character is doing something in MKD that only makes sense if you know his or her full MKDA story.

I think its better for the gamecube version because the xbox version has a freezing glitch when frost does her freeze (how ironic) and the ps2s well....looks like shit. The small dpad wont bother you that much either.

That glitch only happened to me once and that's it.Get it on any system.Like XcarnageX and Frost said it's a excellent game.By the way check out Versatile's sticky thread at the top of this forum. His tips and combos will give the game alot of replay vaule. That way your live MKDA to the fullest.

Could not have said it better myself. I think that MKDA is a perfect training game to get used to the fighting system. Though some things will change I think for the most part it will remain extremely similar. Question though: Do you simply not own it, or do you not own it and have never played it? Because if it is answer B I really think that you should buy it immediately it's a great game. I own the X-Box version, and have never experienced the Frost glitch. I guess that doesn't mean I won't though, just not my turn yet.

They might have fixed that glitch for the platinum hits version. I heard they fixed the coin glitch in this version. But anyways I agree with everyone else. You should buy MK:DA mainly to get used to the fighting engine because it will be very much like MKD when it comes out. Also because it is a great game and it has all kinds of cool stuff in the krypt.
