Slowdown - How to
I'd like to know if there are any good DOS (true MS-DOS) utilities that can slow down my MK2 and MK3 (eg. in MK3 I barely have the time to select a fighter at the select screen). I have no use for DOSbox and the like, only true DOS utils.
I also want to know how much should I slow them down, percent-wise (or does it differ from processor to processor?)
Thanks.

May I just ask why you don't have use for DOSbox? DOSbox plays MK3 perfectly and the adjustable CPU cycles makes it easy to get it the right speed. Also, there really aren't any (that I know of) apps for DOS to slow down a computer because back when computers had dos they didn't really need that. Besides that would insinuate multitasking which DOS didn't do. Do you actually have DOS installed on something or are you using Windows 95/98/ME and restarting in DOS mode?
dreemernj, I have DOS 7.0 installed alongside (multiboot) Win2000=> I don't restart in DOS; I restart and select the REAL DOS from the multiboot menu. Also it doesn't have to be multitasking; it could be a TSR loading from Autoexec.bat, like a sound or mouse driver.

So you restart in dos, lol.
Anyway, I did see listed that there is a version of Mo'Slo for DOS.
I have MS DOS 7.1 with tiny 3.11 95 98 and ME guis installed on a comp because they are fun to play with and cause I'm making a lightweight, networkable 98 livecd that runs on 16-32 megs of ram. But it still seems kind of like a waste of time to restart your computer in DOS when you can run it in Windows, unless you spend a lot of time in DOS. Especially since Dosbox plays those games very well with sound and correct speed, plus it has a built in method of playing IPX games across TCP/IP. It's really a pretty sweet deal, net play MK3 PC is interesting. If it weren't for arcade emus it'd probably still be the best version of an MK game for home use out there.
