I always thought smoke in MK 2 was just to be there, not really for any purpose but for us fans to find something hidden. I really don't think a story was conceived for him until MK 3 with the whole cyborg ninja stuff. It was only in MK 3 that we learned he and SubZero were allies.

I wouldn't trust anything outside of the video games as being accurate. That text on that trading card, imo was made up to fill space and relates to the game in no way.

The MK2-based comic written by John Tobias featured Smoke and Sub-Zero working together, didn't it? The card story sounds like just utter crap, as the GAME's story is more important and actually followed.

He didn't have one.

Smoke, Jade, and Noob all had stories in MK2, just not at the time.

But since then the creators have changed that. We already know Noob Saibot's - he was spying on the tournament for Shinnok, giving him reports.

Smoke and Jade I'm sure we'll find out in MKSM.

jade was most likely fighting for khan jsut like mileena and kitana were at the time until kitana defected

and in mk3 khan sent jade and reptile after kitana

somke was prolly jsut assisting sub zero since his story mk3 story stated he was lin kuei and subzero was sent to assasinate shang tsung so they prolly sent smoke along as back up, because of what happend to older sub zero in the 1st tournament

I understand they added it later. I just meant that in MK2, Noob had no story.
