Im highly disappointed by this "arcade perfect" adaptation. Ive come across lots of bugs in it. Being hit by opponents before the match starts, being hit through blocks, SEVERE lag in online play, the UMK codes dont seem to be working. Im seeing $10 to be too much for this. Did anyone decide to test this before release?!

I haven't noticed the things you're talking about. I have seen some sound glitches but haven't experienced any broken gameplay. I got the Kombat codes to work in UMK3 as well. Double check them

I haven't been online yet but I played the game for several hours today (jumping from game-to-game) and I've been pretty impressed. Hopefully we'll get a patch soon though.

I wouldn't consider it a waste, but I am disappointed how the kollection turned out. The netcode is horrible, and its not acceptable. It seems like no one tested this game online before it was released. Why couldn't they just use the same netcode from UMK3 on the 360 or MK2 for the ps3? In fact, why couldn't that company make this kollection instead?

I couldn't even enter kombat codes at the versus screen for umk3 for whatever reason. I've encountered other issues, but I am so surprised this was released with how it plays online and the bugs it has.

You ever wonder why they just don't hire mame workers to emulate their games?

Anyways, it is worth $10 still, considering you get 3 games for the price of 1 or 2. Being a huge MK fan like the rest of you guys, I would give this kollection a 5/10.

Its hard to relive or visit the arcade like experience when the online isn't even playable.

I also wanted to point out, that there is no spectator mode during online matches. Again, when Umk3 on the 360 had it( before it was pulled) and the fact that MK9 has it, theres no reason why this kollection shouldn't have it. Even with the lag issues, theres other stuff that I personally feel should have been added. I hope the patch fixes the lag and adds spectator mode or something.

nostalgia just isn't enough for me anymore, specially when there's better online gameplay with other games.

My big issue with it is that UMK3 feels too slow. Nobody else seems to have mentioned this yet, but when I went through Arcade with Cyber-Smoke, the gameplay speed just felt off. It bitched my combos to hell; this is not a problem I had with the DS version.

Haven`t tried MKII yet, but MK1 seems okay barring the Endurance 3 BGM in Goro`s Lair cutting out.

Hope the online gets better.

All of the issues noted leave me very disappointed. There's no excuse for this not to be arcade perfect at this point.

I'm hearing these complaints on the TestYourMight.com forums too, from what I hear, nobody from NRS is responding to the tweets about these issues.

I've refrained from the game kollection so far, beyond the simple reason that I own all these games already.

I read one particular review that was rather educational.

"-Brightness is up way too much (can’t adjust, you’re stuck with it, blacks look more like noisy grays)

-Background music is way too low even at full blast (same problem with MK9)

-Achievements have hidden requirements (lazy, lazy development, FYI everyone, the Arcade Kompetitor Achievement – You have to beat all the Test Your Mights and the Arcade Kombatant Achievement – You have to fight Jade)

-Some sound effects are cut off with accordance to the original source

-Online is completely broken for all 3 games, almost unplayable

-Background music completely disappears at times or simply makes a static noise. Why did I pay for this game again when I could have got a working emulator for free? Answer: I am an Achievement Whore.

-The framerate will occasionally drop...I think that bears repeating...the framerate will occasionally drop...you’re telling me that 360's hardware can’t handle 16-year-old games? I assure you it can.

-Pause is not the start button, it’s the back button because that makes sense...

-And when you come out of the pause menu, the game doesn’t read any controller inputs for 1-2 seconds...I have never seen this in a video game before.

-If you’re playing someone online and they quit out (after it’s clear you’re going to beat them), your rank doesn’t increase. So, in order to rise in the leaderboards, your opponent cannot quit.

-And finally...really Ed Boon, your team can’t make 12 different jpegs? Repeating graphics for achievements, what is this? A launch arcade game? Before they knew what to do with achievements?

This is the definition of a cash in and being a blind MK fan, I totally fell for it, please don’t make the same mistake."

Dang. The fact that Street Fighter III was just re-released and it appears they gave it a lot of care and love and then this gets released and seems like a blatant cash-grab is discouraging.

I can defend the latter; if START were pause, we'd still have the MAT2 bug where we couldn't fight Smoke. And if they changed the input method, odds are we'd bitch.

I keep hearing people report that sometimes Scorpion only goes "GET-" before being cut off, but I'm very certain this was present in the original UMK3.

the achievements are too damn easy! it took me 90 minutes to get 11 trophies...and in mk2 you don't have to fight jade to get the trophy.

UMK3 has a MASSIVE lag. MK1 seems to be fine, but haven't been online in MK2 yet.

Other than that, the only other issue I have come across is that it is stupidly difficult to do a Mercy. But, I think that is due to my own poor skills as opposed to any screw-up in game design.

This is the only one I've come across and it sure bugged the hell outta me.

The others are things already present in the old versions that just weren't corrected.

UMK3 does seem to be slower for some reason, though.

I'm glad more people are noticing this. I don't think a lot of people here have played the DS version or the original arcade so they're clueless about it; but UMK3 is not just slow online, it's slow period. It goes at maybe 80% of its intended speed. I can't play it at all.

Lag issues come and go with MK1 and 2, but for the most part both are playable online for me. I haven't really seen anything else wrong with the Kollection so far, even though I would have liked for there to be unlockables such as concept art and such.. Just to give it some replay value other than constant online matches.

UMK3 online is a different story almost entirely. The lag there is horrible almost every time you play. Sometimes its better, but its still really slow. I've also not been able to put in any kombat kodes at the VS screen, and apparently neither has anyone I've played on there so far.

I do have one additional problem with the game in general, specifically with an achievement. I've beaten all three games, got the achievement for each (which, might I add was rather difficult for UMK3... The first couple of times I beat it I got nothing).. But there is one achievement just for beating all three, which as I said I have done, and I didn't get it. I would guess that if this were a bug for everyone, then no one would have it yet, but I have seen other players who have gotten the achievement so I have no clue what I'm doing wrong.
