I can see how you get that. The pale face, the slicked back black hair. Personally I just think he looks like a true Italian. We always called him the Italian Sub.

Yeah I kind of noticed that when I first played MK3... WHICH IS PART OF THE REASON WHY I HATE HIS FUCKING COSTUME SO MUCH, and it pisses me off to see it return in MK:DA.
