sub zero fatality on MKT

on psx version of MKT when i play as classic sub zero and do one of the fatalities the screen goes black, then a scream and then i hear sub zero wins fatality.

can someone explain why this happens.
thats actually one of his fatalities. Don't ask me why, but they removed his ice grenade fatality and gave him that crap and i think the ice pick fatality. Just shows again how rushed MKT wasgrinwow

They wanted his head rip but didnt want to animate a spine so they made him grab the head and fade out. It was like that for UMK3 and MKT.
