Sub-Zero in Triligy was just for completion purposes and exploitation of the MK Ninja skin. Shang Tsung and Reiko are not connected. Reiko just like to wear make-up while Shang seems to just experiment with it.

ok, if i read this right from a previous message, it's that the original Sub-Zero (MK1 and MK2) was Liu Kang. Now when he died, I think he turned into Noob Saibot. That kinda makes sense that the "new" Sub-Zero is his brother. And about the Reiko=Shang Tsung... ???

I will explain it again.

The Sub-Zero in MKT was just there for completion of the game. Reiko and Shang Tsung are not connected. They just like to wear makeup.

Classic Sub Zero was meant to be a part of the UMK3 storyline. But when Midway began preproduction of MK4, they decided to refine the storyline and yes, in MKT he's only for competition. That's also why thye changed Mileena's ending.

But Classic Sub Zero was in UMK3 as a hidden character along with ermac and mileena.

If it meant anything canon, it would probably mean that they seen him in that mask and thought he was the original MK1 Sub. Then when he pulled off his mask they seen it was the younger brother who was in MK2 and 3. The original Sub died in MK1 and became Noob Saibot, but one thing you have to understand is that the MK team probably didn't even think that Sub is Noob story up till Deception. So in those past games Noob was original Sub but before deception they were two different ppl. understand?

Sub Zero and Sub Zero always have been 2 different ppl. Why do you think one has the mark on his eye and the other doesnt.

I know that but u just don't understand what i mean. IF it meant anything that would be CANON, then the ninja suit Sub in MKT would be the same Sub-Zero, just in his ninja outfit. They would see the ninja suit and think it was the original but then they realize its the Sub with the scar, IF it was canon.

well u no noobs saibot was the real sub zero but when he die he become noobs and his brother is now the ~new sub zero lin kuei~ bc in mk deception when u finish the game in arcade the ending is this:

Noob Saibot was surprised to see how much stronger his brother had become. If he were still Lin Kuei, still human, he would probably have shown some degree of pride. But, as Raiden had revealed during the ordeal with Shinnok's amulet, his soul had been tainted when he died at the hand of Scorpion. NOOB SAIBOT, THE ORIGINAL SUB-ZERO, had descended into the Netherrealm free from compassion..He ordered Smoke to assist him in slaying his brother-his first act as ruler of the Netherrealm.

And I thought for the longest time that I was alone...It's nice to see that I'm not the only one with that theory anymore.

It's kinda like the theory that Noob is the original Subbie before it even became official. My main reason of supporting the theory of UMK3/MKT Classic Sub-Zero being the MK2 (younger/scarred) Sub-Zero is the fact that Classic Sub-Zero had unmasked Sub-Zero's Ice Showers, Ice Clone (which the original Sub-Zero had in MKM: S-Z), and Animality. Almost like Noob having Sub-Zero's Deep Freeze fatality in the N64 port of MK4 was used to support the theory that Noob was the original Sub-Zero. However, I don't really have much else to support my theory that the MK3 (unmasked)/MK2 Sub-Zero and Classic Sub-Zero from UMK3/MKT are the same person.

However, it's only a theory, and apparently, it only stands if Classic Sub-Zero from UMK3/MKT was canon at all, like Smoke01 said.

By the way, before we get into the "scar/no scar" debate that I'm certain will be used to contradict my theory, I'd like to point out that the same Sub-Zero we've seen since MK2 did NOT have a scar in MKD, and they added it at the last minute in MK4 and MKDA, so to me, whether or not a certain Sub-Zero has a scar over the eye is no longer an issue, since we now know which character was revealed to be the original Sub-Zero.

Clarification questions:

Was there a MASKED Sub-Zero and an UNMASKED Sub-Zero in MK2? or

Was the MSKED Sub-Zero infact THE UNMASKED SUB-Zero?

Well basically what im saying is were they both in MK2's storyline?



Lastly, Can you interpret these for me?

Well, to answer your first question, yes and no. And they were the same person, too. (there's the answer to your second question) The only time in the whole game you saw Sub-Zero without the mask on is in his ending.

To answer your third question, both Sub-Zeros were in the game, but the MK1 one, of course, is Noob Saibot, and the younger one is the Sub-Zero you play as.

As for Sub-Zero's MK2 ending, more about it can be clarified in the official MK2 Comic Book (PM me and I'll try to find the link to the comic for you). So in short, the older Sub-Zero dies toward the end of MK1 in a battle with Scorpion. What happened here? Well, after Liu Kang defeated Goro, Shang Tsung was furious, so he sent Goro to attack Johnny Cage, Sonya, and Kano, while he sent his henchmen to attack Raiden, Scorpion, and the original Sub-Zero. The Goro vs. Cage/Sonya/Kano fight is irrelevant to this particular topic, so I'll shift to the Sub/Scorp/Raiden vs. Shang's henchmen fight. Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Raiden defeat Shang Tsung's henchmen, and once they're all defeated, Scorpion and Sub-Zero fight to settle their score once and for all. Needless to say, Scorpion emerges victorious, and the original Sub-Zero breathes his last breath. Scorpion later vanished in a flash of flames, and Raiden was the sole witness to this battle.

Later, word of Shang Tsung's survival reaches the Lin Kuei, and they are concerned that the original Sub-Zero did not complete his mission, so they send his younger brother to complete the task. Question is, how did the Lin Kuei find out about Shang Tsung's survival? They had surveillance in the Shaolin Temples where Liu Kang resides, and their surveillance just happened to capture Shang Tsung's attack on Liu Kang's Shaolin Temples, and they noticed people referring to this young guy in robes as "Shang Tsung". Sub-Zero even showed the surveillance photos to Liu Kang as soon as he returned to the temple to find it in ruins. And how does he learn of Scorpion's foul vendetta against his older brother? From Liu Kang. See, in the MK2 Comic, Sub-Zero shows his business card to Liu Kang (he's dressed in a business suit in this scene), and it has the name "Sub-Zero". Liu Kang tells him, "You're not Sub-Zero. I saw him die. He was killed by a ninja specter named Scorpion."

As for the rest of the ending... if his ending happened, then Shang Tsung would be dead by MK3 (unless Shao Kahn ressurrected him). However, it is open for debate as to whether or not he was spared by Scorpion in MK2.
