Tanya originally in MKII ?

I'm blatently going to pogo off of jlacroix's Ermac in MKII thread because his screencap of MKII in a hex editor was interesting. I didn't think that Tanya was even concieved of until MK4, so I'm thinking that Tanya could have been another charecter thought of and dropped in MKII that was revived in MK4. I'm thinking along the lines of a yellow female ninja. Then again, in the hex editor Tanya shows up with all the other fake names like Kano and Sonya so it could just as easily be nothing. Comments?

For MKII, there was a kickboxer charater based off of Kathy Long who was going to be named Tanya.

I thought Nimbus Terrifax was supposed to be the rumored kick boxer?

Nope nope. Jax was originally a kick boxer dressed in a yellow Ki outfit, but they changed the costume to show off his "impressive physique" or something and changed his story to go with the new costume.

OK I knew about that, I think he had 3 different costumes total, but I also thought Jax was just always going to be Jax with different costume ideas. Apparently they had him wear some outfit that he ripped as well when doing kicks, or so I've heard. Who was Nimbus supposed to be?

Yes, Nimbus Terrafaux was a rumored kick boxer. ~Crow~ made a thread about rumored characters that you posted in a couple times. Did you not see the fake photos of Nimbus he posted? :D Those photos were in a magazine back in the day, either GamePro or EGM, and offered some extreme code to play as him.

Those characters were definitely originally planned, but dropped.
However, in the code, I believe the Fergality to exist 100% because you can do it in the Genesis version. Fergus or whatever his name is helped with the DOS version, so it makes sense, and it also shows there's more to be discovered.
Am I saying Tanya is a hidden character? Probably not. But it is very interesting!!!
If I can get my hands on a sourcecode extractor we can get to the bottom of this once and for all, anyone know where I can get one?
PS. I think Kano and Sonya were hidden characters but thrown away before the game came out. It makes sense.

He worked for Probe Software. Probe also helped with the PC version, and you can tell that because it has the Probe logo before the game starts.
Because of Fergus working on both the Genesis and PC versions, and the Fergality being in Genesis and also in the code for the PC version, there is no doubt in my mind that the Fergality also exists in the PC version. I'd like to find it, however my computer runs MK2 so fast that entering the cheat code is an impossiblity due to the fact the copyright screen only appears for less than 2 seconds on my machine.
When I get something to view more of the code in the binaries, I am going to see if I can take a look at the game further. I know there is more we haven't discovered yet, as there is no proof that everything has been found. Judging by the code I seen in the Genesis and SNES versions, everything has definitely been found in those versions, however not the PC and Arcade revisions.

If I told you Kintaro was supposed to be playable, have a different name, and was not going to be a Shokan, would you believe me?

No. Kintaro's name was always Kintaro. But he was supposed to be playable and not a Shokan.
