The Creation of Ermac

Okay this is how i think Ermac was created.

Well lets get the facts down first:
1.Ermac was a rumored glitch in MK1that caused scorpion to turn red and his name(sometimes)replaced with ERMAC(standing for error macro)
2.Ermac is comprised of many souls of warriors captured by Shao Kahn)
3.Shang Tsung works for Shao Kahn and has control of Souls.
4.In shaolin monks one of the ninja statues in the Warrior shrine would come to life as Ermac.

So i think that to help outworld win the tournament Shao Kahn ordered Shang Tsung to put a lot of his souls into one warrior.So Shang Tsung shot his stroungest souls into one of the warrior's shrine's ninja statue that came to life as Ermac

Not right,there never was a glitch/error in MK1 turning scorpion red.FACT.there is any pic of this error/glitch? yes,a fake one created by someone at EGM back in the 90's.So,i think Ermac was created by the imagination of fans and nothing else,then Midway materialized him in a character with an actual story in UMK3.

Actually my friend i was not referring to that obvious fake there are many pictuers an it was even stated in the mini guide to MKD that there was a glitch that made scoripon or reptile turn red with the occasional life bar changing to say ERMAC.

now can we please get back on subject

Shao Kahn could've just created Ermac himself.

The souls that Shao Kahn possess are far more powerful than Shang Tsung's anyway.

Yeah, a fusion of souls binded together into one body.

Now, though assuming his ending is canon in MK:A which I hope it is actually, he's now an army of Ermacs.I think that's awesome personally, perhaps there will be several Ermacs or Ermac like characters now.I wouldn't mind personally.

Have one each have a special psi-power.grin


Ermac has always been one of my all time favs.

Sounds like a plausible theory.

Except Ermac in MK1. No ninja ever turned red.

It's as if you just said:

"How did math begin?

Let's start with the facts.

1. 1 + 1 = 3"

It's not a fact, in fact, it's a lie. There was no reason to include that in your theory.

Basically, anything you come up with is purely speculation since Ermac was created to appease fans who wanted him in the game. The only way he can have more history is if they decide to add it officially.

All of his existing 2D storyline dances around the concept that he was a fan driven creation.

I prefer to think of him as the souls of dead warriors slain by Kahn, who combined into a single entity with enough power to destroy him. How he actually came to be, is a mystery to me. Shang Tsung's involvement is definitely a good idea.

refering to the first post made i.e the subject in question i would say your theory is definatley plausible. shang tsung being kahn's best shadow priest (and kahn being too lazy to do it himself "eh you guys, earthrealm warriors weakened me for EIGHT YEARS!!!!) would definatley have been the one to make. yes, kahn possess more powerful souls. i believe he keeps them all in that fancy soul chamber he has. therefore, allowing Shang Tsung would have access to it, allowing him to combine a buncha souls to form ermac. but i guess we'll never know till team MK decides to tell us about it/they can figure it out for themselves.
