I've heard it all. They put it with Deception to sell more copies of Deception. Or to sell more Special Editions of Deception. Which I believe in since MKDA in my town flopped over pretty bad, but here is the real reason.
MK Deception will have two versions to choose from a special edition, and the normal version. The special edition is prepacked with some goodies, one of them being MK1 game. MAT2 had MK1, MKII, and as far as we know an unknown version of MK3 (UMK3 or MK3?) Midway realized if people bought both the special editions to get the extra DVD menus, and collector cards, they would also get MK1, and MAT2 they wind up with two MK1s. They deleted MK1 from MAT2 so if people did buy both the special edition of MKD, and MAT2 they would have only one MK1. That's the real reason why MK1 was cancelled from MAT2. I checked, and MKD Special Edition in the store I prebought mine is outselling by a whole lot rather than the normal edition. I think Midway needs to just get rid of the normal version, and release only the special edition of MKD.
