What one has better graphics mk4 gold or mk4 for pc thats all I'm concered about.
Both are the same. MK4 for PC is an arcade port, so it looks like the arcade. MK:Gold looks exactly like the arcade, so there isn't any difference graphics wise.
But if I would buy one, it would be MK:Gold, because it has the extra characters and stages.

I would save yourself the horror, and the possible end result of never playing MK again by not buying it at all.

PC MK4 doesn't have the arcade models, they are the same ones that were dumbed down for the PS1 and N64 versions. (unless you've got the MK4E patch by sorcerer)
If you've got the option get MK Gold, it does have arcade perfect models & the extra characters & new backgrounds.

the dreamcast had perfect arcade ports, and my opinion the graphics where even better on dreamcast than i remember 4 being.

i would say get mk gold simply because its got more characters and stages. it also looks better than any other version of mk4 (since the dreamcast was more powerful than the arcade hardware they upped the polygon count for the game. there's more to the story of how mk gold came to be but i wont get into it). i personally own the dreamcast version and i think its ok considering the other mk4's out there.

MK Gold has arcade perfect graphics and sound. MK4 for PC has playstation - style graphics, but thanks to the MK4Strip you can edit the skins of the charecters and make your own fighters.

The graphics for the PC version were down right horrible. The character models were something like 700 polygons instead of the 4000 the arcade had. You can get the patch but all that really does is install new models with higher poly counts and it really doesn't increase the quality of the graphics tremendously.
The only cool thing about the PC version I think is the skin editting, thats fun.
