Where's the tourny scene for MK:DA? Are there any major tournaments for it? How bout mmk5.org helps get the game into Evo2004, the biggest fighting game tournament in the country, like many other fan sites got their fav games into it? If not DA, then UMK3, or both. Something... anything. I'm tired of people talking crap about MK as if it's some piece of crap fighting game series. I want people to see that there are those who play this competively and that high level MK play is something to behold. C'mon. Let's get things rolling! :)

Any suggestions how? What's being done already? Should we just wait for MK6? Am I just some crazy guy who doesn't know what he's talking about?

Well, if its any solace, when MK 6 is online, and the best online players are listed, there wont be a need for any more tourneys, they disappear like an mkda arcade machne, but thats only my guess.

MKDA tournies, lol!! that's funny. what you read from the east coasters on this board IS the tourny scene, period. MK has always been an east coast thing anyways. More spcefically, a chicago and surrounding area thing. It's a nich group of peeps who play, like a little pose' or something.

MK6 online tournies are gonig to blow ass. No one gives a shit who wins when there is ping and lag involved. The only bragging rights that are worth a damn is when you buy a plan ticket or drive to a tourny and earn them.

If you want a tourny scene, then play MvC2 or T. Though, it's becouse of MvC2 that the US can't play a shit lick worth of SF, CvS or KoF; but whatever, that's another issue.

I find it hard to believe that MK will ever be a big tourny game. MK has always attracted the noobs, that's what it does. It did for me, but I grew up and eventually wanted more - even though I still scrub it up noob style tongue. It was a stepping stone. Anybody that has an open mind and isn't full of shit, that's what happens with certain games.

That's all I see it as. Sorry to say it, but IMO, it's true. Peace and love ya'll.

I just think its so 1990s that people have to buy a plane ticket ot drive around for hours just so they can play;

Finally online play will give us a chance to play at the comfort of our homes, and see who truely is the best, not just people that have hours of free time to drive around.

If I am as good at mk6 as I am in mk5, Ill probably be #1 on the online list, but you never know.

I was terrible at mk3, and somewhat mk4.

I know what you're saying, believe me, I do. I agree that online, in general, is going to be a good thing...if done correctly. But there is a reason why the japanese, koreans, etc rule at fighters - as fan-boyish as that sounds, there is no denying it. They're a dense population that gets up off of their ass and travels to the various cities and play the various top players.

Think about it, twenty kids huddled around a cab, watching a match. Think of just how much a person would learn in that one match, talking and conversing to all the other players about the sweet set-up that they all just saw, or an other wise shitty move that proves to be benificial in a certain situation. All of those minds and peeps gathered, for the simple intent of playing a game, and playing it well.

Then, you have the online dude, with his three or four jock'ing friends who think hes' just so f()&ing leet at "insert random fighter." They gather at his house, he gets owned online. Because of his shitty ping he takes an even more retarded loss than he would have in a straight up, non online match. He's like "WTF!?! How'd I get beat by THAT?!" His friends are retarded and can't play all that well, so they can't answer. Thus, a potentially good player will learn, much later, why he got beat the way he did. And because of the nature of online, he'll probally bitch about ping/lag....
and forever say that all losses are because of ping/lag, not because he simply sux.

Such an instance is NOT good for any, fighter community.

Somtimes I wonder why you're here saty, seriously. I think you're a cool guy and all, and I agree that MK6 online will only be great if done correctly, but EVERY single post I've seen from you you've put down this series in one way or another. Seriously, if you think it's so scrubby and shitty, don't play it and don't post shit about it. Don't you think we've had enough of that as fans? We don't need more of it in our own friggen community.

Shortly after I wrote my post I was thinking to myself, "dude, you sure slam on DA a lot." I understand many people love the franchise, that's why they're here. Instead of slaming it, I should be attempting to build it up the community...it's just hard for me.

I apologize for my "hate." I hope that no one has taken my comments persoanlly, I don't mean for them to be personal. However, I do not apologize for my oppinions; as I am entitled to them and they are correct tongue.

I apologize for the volume of my hate. The hate to love ratio isn't all that good grin. I see it, I've seen it for a while, actually. I will atempt to fix this.

Peace and love ya'll.

sorry...I truly doubt dial up will be accepted...I don't even think XBox live can be used with dial up.

suck it up and and get a fast connection. I cannot even imagine using the internet without high speed.

Not on x box, let me make that a confirmation
on a ps2, yes, but some games dont except dial up, so we will see if mk6 does.
Yeah I really recomend some sorta high speed. If you used high speed it is unthinkable to go back.

get a clue, x box does not have dial up, and I have a playstation 2. Hers the official x box faq, which confirms that.

http://www.gamersmark.com/editorials/view/39/

The only question is whether playstation2 users will be able to do that (dial up). Depends on how ed boon develops the game.

If there is no dial up, the service quality will be much higher for the playstation 2; that is fact.

are you on crack? how can you possibly say PS2 would have better quality? It's XBOX! XBOX LIVE! HELLO! WTF?

And I am almost possitive MK6 will NOT be compatible with dial up. After all, Xbox Live does not allow 56k users.

no no, you misunderstood me
THat cant be what i possibly said
I know x box has better connections.
I just said ps2 will have better quality over itself if it ditched the dial up.
