Umk and MK3 arcade release dates?

I was thinking about this i remember mk3 came out in 95 on gamefaqs it says 1/1/95 and has the same date for umk3 that cant be possible can it? did these games come out at the same time? Cause i remember seeing mk3 out in early 95 and then seeing umk3 in 96.Gamespot and other sites said they both came out in 95? if so how far apart does anybody actually know the arcade release dates. I dont know why but im very curious about this.

UMK3 was released in '96. Not quite sure on exact date. I'll get back to you on that.
EDIT: Mortal Kombat 3 was released in April 1995. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was released on January 1st, 1996. The date is obscured, as it was different everywhere, but the estimates are late December (around Christmas) to around New Year's Day.

Yeah it was December 95 when the first release of UMK3 came out I believe, our local video store didn't get the arcade machine for several months after it came out, I remember it being spring time.

The arcade games don't really have one set release date. They were at test locations way ahead of a nation wide release and even the initial wide release would be an unfished revision. Like MK II came out in 1993 but it wasn't actually finished(rev 3.1) until 1994.


UMK3 went into public testing in Chicago in late September.
