The skin on his sprites were darkened a bit in UMK3, yes.



If I'm not mistaken, they changed it in MKT and it's been lighter ever since. I don't think it's really a big deal. He isn't exactly human or anything.

Bingo. I remember being bewildered at the change. Ultimately irrelevant, but it was a nice little detail.

Makes me wonder if that Mk: Defenders of the realms episode, featuring that dark skinned female ninja, Ruby, was a reference to ermacs original skin tone

In the arcade, Ermac's P1 color was dark skinned (same as Jade). His P2 color was light skinned, like in Trilogy. P2 also had a different shade of red.

Trilogy ditched having 2 different skin pallets. Not sure why.

Yeah I think Ermac was originally supposed to be black, iirc he had Jax's sound bytes.

I might be wrong, but:
It might have been caused by some of his souls.
Maybe a drak-skinned soul uproared inside of him and a lighter spirit calmed him down! lol.

Could it change his gender at times as well? What about age; could we see a ten-year-old Ermac? I believe that the current appearance of Ermac has been regularized seeing that Jerrod is the dominant soul now.

MKT reversed the P1/2 pallettes.

Ermac was changed to bright red w light skin, and Rain was given lavender on the consoles instead of purple in the arcade demo mode.

Jade's skin lightening still remains a mystery.
