When something better than UMK3 comes out, I'll let you all know, because it still hasn't happened yet.

Is good. It's a B+ in the most anal sense. There are minor loading times which I expected and don't bother me much at all, it takes about 3 seconds to load a match sometimes, but usually next to nothing. There are music issues when going through levels. The music hangs during the animation and goes into the next one, a bit odd and unlike the arcade which stops, the animation through the levels happens then the next one starts as they get up. During finish him, after it's over the music bleeds through again, and there is also some music bleeding between rounds. It's a little weird and I don't even know why it would happen.

The most noticable thing however, is the slow down at times. I was performing Reptile's juggle dashing combo on Jade and there was a noticable stuttered in the animation and sluggishness.

Can anyone figure out how to change controls for UMK3? I'm using a stick and the config is OK/identical to MKT, but I would rather set it up like UMK3. And also, what about Human Smoke, thus far I cannot get the code to work.

I hope UKKs stay unlocked for those of you who plan on playing this a lot.

Reading the review, it just seems like your giving it more of a D than a B to me. Also, I am sure the X-box version will not be as bad with slow down times since its a much more powerful machine.

Cool, so I'm guessing that most of the issues you've noticed could be solved by the better hardware alone? If I'm remembering some of your past posts correctly, UMK3 is just big enough to not quite fit into the PS2's RAM... so I'm guessing that a machine with RAM to spare would get a much "cleaner" feeling game, since it wouldn't need to use any of the workarounds that the PS2 needed. And obviously loading time would be a non-factor since the 360 version will be hard drive- (or memory card) based.

Also considering the fact that they need to develop new menu interfaces and online components for the 360 version, I suppose we could end up with a prettty polished final product! Here's hoping...

So no online play, and still not 'Arcade perfect' as advertised?

Well, now I know not to get the Premium Edition.

Well at least we can determine that in optimum settings programming and emulation the minimum requirements to run UMK3 on a PC should be about 700mhz.

I did not know they had UMK3 for the PC, (since it seems the only PC MK games that can run on my pc are MKT and MK4)
Does its have any connection features?

Not PC...

And yes, XBLA will be playable online, like SF2HF.

As I hardcore UMK3 fan (I own the arcade machine) this news is a bit disapointing...the music makes the game. But I have a feeling, It's something to do with the PS2 harware...maybe it has a crap buffer for music? The reason I say this is, in MKSM it did similar things with music, but on X-Box it didn't...but the weird thing is sometimes PS2 did things better than X-Box. I think the problem lies in each systems hardware.

TMK you are probably right, MKA has this sound glitch as well in places especially during loading.
I dont care that much about sound glitches but if the game has slowdowns than it sucks, if it has slowdowns on Xbox 360 too than I stick on MAME to play lol.

It can't slowdown on 360. 360 will be perfect, and if it isn't, someone's going to pay. Dearly.

Midway said in a press release for MK:A that it would include an "arcade-perfect" version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

You've probably got human smoke already but hold L1 R1 square and triangle and there is he.

Is it just me or does this game seem different in presentation. I guess I am spoiled by mame but the game looks like it has been filtered horribly.

Cheers!
