I'm sure most of you guys already know this, but on
the genesis/megadrive version of MK3, hold down
A+B+C and press start and you get to play an
8-a side team battle!!!

MK2 used to be my favourite, but now I've discovered
this, MK3 RULES!
The fight lasts for AGES and it's fast and furious,
non-stop action all the way. I love the way defeated
characters explode and the next fighter jumps in, and
with 8 fighters each, you can have ALL the characters
in 1 huge fight!!!!!

What I really want to know is...
DOES THIS MODE FEATURE IN ANY OTHER MKs?

I agree!!! That system kicks ass!

Even though my fave character Baraka was in Mk2, I have to say Mk3 was so much better.

Mk2 was great, but Mk3 was greater.

You could do 4 on 4 in MK2 for SNES. At the screen where you chose to play or go to options, hold L and R and press Start and you'll go to the 4 on 4 character select

Also, the 8 on 8 play that is in MK3 for SNES/Genesis is also in UMK3. I'm not sure about Genesis, but on UMK3 for SNES, if you do the 8 on 8 and random select, you will occasionally get a Question mark instead of a character picture. This question mark will be Sheeva. She isn't in the game, her graphics aren't at least, but they left the code in for her. So you will get to play as an invisible sheeva that moves ultra fast and is buggy as hell.

Another question...
Does anyone know why this mode is a secret?
It is so much more fun than 1 on 1 fighting, I can't
understand why the developers made it a secret mode.
I REALLY hope MK:D has something like this...

It was kind of a secret because it wasn't just an option right there on the screen, but it was extremely well known.

I think their attempt at making it mainstream was the 8 player tournament mode in the later games, but that was never as much fun. The brackets for that were setup for 8 players and I never came across many groups of 8 that were up for it.

What planet was I on? I got MK3 when I was a kid and
I NEVER knew about those kodes! These days you
can find almost anything on the internet if you look
hard enough.

My personal project will DEFINATELY feature teams!

I kind of like the old Mortal Kombats (1-ultimate)
are a little cooler than deadly alliance

MKII-MK3-UMK3 (SNES): Highlight The Start Option, Hold L+R+Start.

At The MK3 SNES Version, use this GameGenie Code 6D37-CF02, and Play at The 2 Pad, go Practice Your Combos because is Very Funny to see The Explosion.

At The UMK3 SNES Version, You cannot Choose Rain/Noob at The Tournament Option, for some Lazy Programmer Reason... sad
