What do I do when the guy says TOASTY in MKII?

Whenever I uppercut or something it says toasty!! and the guy pops out of the corner. Does that mean anything? Can I do anything?

Ok,you're playing MK2,when you're fighting in the PORTAL STAGE,the one with the portal in the background and the two sorcerers floating on both sides,when you uppercut the opponent,if the face pops up and says Toasty!!! quickly tap DOWN + START and you'll fight Smoke.It only works in that stage.
