MortalMan has you covered. Cyrax used to be a bad guy (he was an assassin for the Lin Kuei), but joined the OIA after Jax and Sonya rescued him from Outworld's desert sometime when Shinnok was around (or possibly after his demise, it's not clear), and became a good guy.
