mine consists mainly of impaling the opponent at the very start of the round & staying the hell away, throwing in the odd soul steal
i use shang tsung
i wish there were more projectiles like in the earlier games

If they block high, get off a low attack. If aren't blocking or blocking low, quickly go back to the stance that starts the most damaging combo by that character.
If someone has an impaling weapon, try to impale, but if you fail the first time, don't try again. Your opponent will most likely know that you want to impale, so there is no need in trying it again.
Against Moloch, just block anything that he tries to do to you, and right after you block an attack, do a really good combo. Style branches that go into weapons are the best. If Moloch throws you in any way, roll back to get up and immediately throw a projectile. If the character you have doesn't have a projectile, or they have one that is too short (such as Hsu Hao's Kahn Klap), just walk back toward him and do the normal routine.
To get off special moves, wait until your opponent has attacked, and while they are still attacking, do your special move.
This is the strategy that I use, and it helps me a lot.

It's a very good move if you know when to use it. If someone is jumping toward you, get it off real fast. Most of the time the computer won't block it.

Using Scorpion's Hapkido, by just keep on pressing B or Square.

When I use Kung Lao (which is most of the time
) I use the strategy 'defense is the best offense.' I let my friends of cpu attack me, block, then counter quickly. It NEVER fails, and you can unload some long combos using that method.
When I use Frost I always attack first, and then escape w/ a backflip if things aren't going my way. The opponent, friends or computer, will usualy jump after you, leaving them open to a ground freeze after the backflip.
And a little strategy I use (just against the cpu) is that whenever your opponent had their weapon out, get yours out too.
Oh and souless_one, I like your avatar, when I was new to the site I was looking for something just like that actualy...

Yeah, but the computer will block it eventually. And if you have a human opponent that doesn't block it, they are just dumb.
A good combo for Scorpion is Spear, 2, 3, Up+4, Up+4, 2, 3, Back+1. That combo looks cool, and it makes your "human" opponent cry. Well, at least mine do, lol.

thanks, but it's messing me about now.
I NEVER use combos, i prefer light-show special moves, Scorpion should spit fire during the fight in the next game

For Moloch I always use kano. get his butterfly knifes and just push back X then foward Y. and block when I need to.
For any other character I use Sub Zero or scorpian. just cuz I masterd those 2 characters right Now I am working on mastering Kung Lao.

I also usually wait for a counter opportunity. If someone seems to be exclusively blocking high, however, I love doing Raiden's back+A (XBOX) staff attack. It almost always catches them off guard and it's easy to set up a move like Sparky from that.

I pick Sonya for every character. Especially Moloch. I use her Tae Kwan Do low sweeps and kicks for Moloch. And I use her Warfare combo and other moves. I never use her special moves or her weapons and I rely on her Tae Kwon Do.

Wow someone is actually good with sonya. Every single MK game I totally suck with her.

i go with the "here birdie birdie birdie DIE FUCKER DIE!" strategy!
lmao.
ahem, anyway, to be more precise, i prefer waiting them out, i used to really rely on the impale, but half the times i forget the characters have that move! so usually i never block, since theres no reason for it, i'll go in with any combo, if its a pop up i usually expand on it to inflict more damage, so its pretty much a toss up.

I could probably be whipped by some peeps here on the site. And everything I said was true, I'm not trying to be "god" at anything.

i ususally do what mostly all of u are saying. it should be a great time when we have all these styles fighting against each other./// but i got a question... when do you normoally use scoprions back flip... i try to use it as a counter attack and my opponent side-steps and gets me.. or i try to use it as an attack.. and it doestn' even reach them most of the time...// and also,, alot of times i would try to do the backflip.. and subzero does his forward dash.. and he gets the hit like 90% of the times.// i hardly use it anymore//
