I have MK2 for Mame but never saw that, what version are u running exactly?

OK Lemme take u thru the steps... that way u can see for yourself... im using MAME32 btw...

After u Load Mk2 Press Tab and then go to Dip Switch, after ur there Turn on the Test Switch then go to Audit then Scroll thru until u see Kano Transformations... i saw this for MK3 too... cept it said Johnny Cage... Weird how they are both missing chars from each game... no Sonya Transformation for mk2 tho... its really weird...

Yo I just saw it too, that is really odd...it's last on the list, there are a few other things on there I don't understand also...

Probably the right answer, especially since Raidens Friendship in MK3 shows an MK2 Machine and says "I've Never Seen A Kano Transformation!", but my question is why?? who were they playing a trick on?? the people that own the machines?? is that who started the whole rumor of it being possible?? that would make sense, the arcade people see that, tell the kids in the arcade, and it snowballed...perhaps..

heh I too was fooled by this at first, After being told by people that it was in there as a joke I never chose to belive it, untill I started to see game guides and FAQ's reporting the same thing, thats when I accepted it was all a CRUEL AND EVIL joke added by the Midway team, shame on you for getting our hopes up for MK2 Kano :/

I have the MKII arcade and I know about the kano transformations on there don't know if it is possible to turn into kano or not never seen it. The other stuff like watch dogs and shawn attacks this is probably what you mean by other weird stuff. Watch dogs is a burn in program in the game like if you go to the diagnostics screen in the test mode or service mode do any of the tests on there. I'm not sure which one it is one of the tests does it and if you look at the watch dogs it will say 1 by it so that's what watch dogs is. I'm still not sure what shawn attacks are though. Burning loops successfully completed is on of the burn in programs to in the diagnostics screen to. Hope this helps later.

They also have a counter for Cage Transformations in MK3.

Watchdogs aren't exactly a mystery. That number goes up each time I end and restart the game. I checked that out once when I noticed it.

Hi, I am Ed 'Ba' Boon.

I can finally reveal that Kano transformations is not a joke after all.

To get him you must pick Liu Kang and beat the whole game without losing any energy or using block or high kick. You must finish everyone with his cartwheel fatality.

You must draw 2 rounds with shao kahn then lose to him.

Continue with Shang Tsung. Hold blk for 3 minutes then press up down up down up down up down up up up up up down down down HK+LK+LP+HP+BLK+Start.

This should kill Shao Kahn. You will get Shang's True ending where he kills Johnny Cage.

You then start a new game. Do a random select. If you don't get Shang you must go through the whole process again. If you do get him you must get to Kintaro holding HP the whole time. Even during the battle plan. Release it during Shao kahns death scene and you will turn into Kano from mk1. You can move around but you cant hit kahn. The game will then crash.

Anyway, it wasn't a joke... it was an intentional Rumour spreading method used by Boon & Co. to keep people playing... This thread is a perfect example of how succesful it was.
