I can't wait for more details though. I really want to see some actual footage of a 360 playing it since all they've shown now were clips of UMK3 during the roll out that look like they are from a pre-release version of UMK3 for the arcade (judging by the way Reptile's force ball explosion is screwy).

Free and arcade perfect but only a small number of people play it online. Plus, its illegal. This will be legal and could lead to a drastic increase in UMK3 internet play.

Mame sucks online due to lag unless you are both using LAN. Will 360 have this problem as well?

Lag is the reason for the delay of the release of sf2 (whatever version it is, can't remember) for XBLA. The stupid reason for that though is that the entire thing was apparently built without testing real world conditions. It was built in a lab to prevent it from getting out on the net.

i highly doubt it i play people from all over the country in call of duty adn theres no lag unless the hosts connection sucks but most people have a good internet connection, i know it will be way way smoother than mame oh yea and to get access to the game everyone will have to purchase a gold membership which is 50 bones a year

Apples and Oranges. FPSs are less damaged by lag. Good shooters have predictive code. Fighting games are more vulnerable to lag than just about any other type of game. That's why SF2 was delayed because the lag present when they tried it out on XBox Live Arcade was too bad to make it available to the public.

I've seen a pattern with the re-release of old games. They've been released as part of the Midway Arcade Treasures series at about the same time that they were put in as special features on MK 6 and Shaolin Monks. In order for it to be cost effective to update an old title for re-release, they must have to make it available for multiple formats. I would expect that they're planning on having it as a special feature on Armegeddon. So it should be available on the 360 arcade on or around the release date of Armageddon. The only way it would be available sooner was if they were also putting it on another Midway Arcade Classics. We'll see.

Of course, I could be wrong. I mean, they're really pimping the daylights out of the whole Midway on XBLA thing at E3.
