MK 2 REPTILE.

UMK3 Reptile was my favorite. He had more moves, and wasn't so slow in creating the exploding ball projectile. When MK2 first came out, Reptile was my favorite character, but he was one of the very weakest, because of that ball he created was so slow. When UMK3 came out, he then had two speeds at which he could create the ball, and he had two new moves. He was much better then.
It's funny how much his looks changes in each new game. I don't think most of the other characters has changed in looks as much as he has from game to game.

Him and Sub-Zero are the only two characters to have the most wardrobe changes.
Though the one I must say that I thought was the best, was his Shaolin Monks/Armageddon apperance.
And just to say it, I hated his Deadly Alliance look, I thought that was the most hideous costume for a character... even Sub-Zero's Shredder Look looked somewhat decent enough

I would say Mk4 because he broke away from the pallet swap and looked like a Reptile and his level Reptiles Lair was tight and he had some cool moves. And I know anything MK4 might be considered blasphemy but its my opinion.
I hated Reptile from MK4 onwards. Since the dawn of 3D, the ninja characters have gone into major suckage IMO with ridiculous costumes that make them unrecognisable from their MK1-2-3 attire. I loved how Reptile looked human, then pulled off his mask and was a scary lizard, now that he's a lizard completly takes away from the character. I understood that he served under Shang Tsung in MK1-2, but in MK4 hes just a grovelling runt. The character had been weakened too much for me.

The one from the movie where he kicks Liu Kangs ass in the beginning. (joking) One of the best if not THEE best fighting scenes in the movie though.
To answer your question, I would say MKII Reptile hands down!

Yeah, I think he had much more appeal in his human form, because then it really gave him that ultimate deception look. Like, "oh, there's a human guy", yet he had something worse in store for you.
In his Snaky look, you know he's a reptile, so you already know to expect something crazy, there's no surprises.

I agree with whatuknowaboutmk and Gameboy, the one from MKII was the coolest. Look at my icon! Is there any explanation for his transformation???

It has to be the one from UMK3/MKT.His moves were much cooler then in mk2
and I agree with the fact that they just made him worse in his reptilian form in the 3d games.

MK2, 2nd player/alternate color...Seriously, it's amazing and I'd do anything to see it in the new game.
Runner up is UMK3/MKT
any human Reptile is fine with me.

Overall, I think MKDA was the best. He just looked like a reptiie then. It made him look evil, which he certainly is.
But since this is in the 1992-2000 range. I think MK2. For me, he just looked distinguished from Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Well him having both Scorpion and Sub-Zero's moves in MK1 was pretty awesome.
As far as his look goes, I'll go with MK II for the classic games and Shaolin Monks for the newer games.
