Yeah MKT PC=PSX. Although, I would also consider plain old MK3 if you can get it for the computer. It was a Dos game I believe but it was frackin good. The graphics for it were beautiful, better then MKT for PC IMO.

Yeah, it's the same with PSX, actually, the character colors are a whole lot nocer on MK3 than MKT, but it's for obvious reasons. But if you're looking for something to entertain you longer, I suggest MKT to MK3, as for MK2, I never played it for PC, so I can't say for sure. MK1 for PC... Sad... So very sad... In any case, get MKT, IF you have an old computer, or are ready to download a hole bunch of patches in order to get the damn thing working.

MK II you would be better off just emulating, IMO. There's really nothing extra that the PC version offers (plus the sound will suck).

Go for MK 3 or MKT. MK 3 was very nicely done, with a lot of PC-specific stuff thrown in (the opening menu, command-line cheats, etc.)

MKT was a bit sloppy, as they didn't even really fix things in the translation from PSX (the PSX controls menu is still there; when you click on it you are simply prompted to use the menu from the game window). However it is the most complete MK, and far and away the best version of MK Triology available. Plus if you feel like it, you get the entire MK sound library to play around with (the .SND files contain all the SFX; they're easy to access after a couple of tricks).

As far as closeness to the UMK3 engine, with all things considered like hit properties, floatiness, gravity, etc, MKT PSX Greatest hits is the closest match. The PC version is like the first version of PSX MKT, or right in the middle of the first and second versions. The only difference between characters in UMK3 and Greatest Hits MKT for PSX is speed, and the things they changed intentionally like limiting Kung Lao's spin, Nightwolf's red shoulder tackle, Kano's crazy cannon ball etc, and the speed of the whole game. I would still recommend getting the PC MKT though because its fun, just make sure you get the patch for it in case it doesn't work. I had MK2 and still have MK3 for PC, MK2 sucked hard, MK3 was pretty damn good.
