In MKT the Original Sub-zero makes a return. However in his ending he is unmasked. Who was the mystery fighter posing as the Original Subzero???

I am a bit confused. In MK2 Sub-zero's ending showed sub-zero brother unmasked. In MK3 that same sub-zero that fought in MK2 and was in MK3-MKT. In UMK3 and MKT the endings didn't have any pics unlike MK3, therefore sub-zero ( the one that was in MK1). In MKT the 2nd sub-zero in UMK3 and MKT are brothers.

"Having been killed in the first tournament, Sub-Zero somehow seems to have
emerged to win the third tournament. However, upon removing his mask both
the Outworld and the Earth-born warriors are shocked to discover the true
identity of this warrior. A warrior who has long been missing from a
previous Mortal Kombat, and one who will return in the fourth tournament"

Clearly the sub-zero in trilogy was not MK2 sub-zero's brother as we all think. It someone posing as Sub-zero. I hope this make my question easier to understand.Who is the warrior posing as sub-zero??

They never say and there's been no mention of him ever since. And he wasn't even really in the N64 Trilogy. It was the younger Sub-Zero. My guess is that they've either retconned it so he never existed, or he was simply killed off during MK3 before anyone found out who he was.

Sub's story in Trilogy is unimportant. He was just added for a sense of completeness.

Classic Sub-Zero appeared in UMK3 first and had the exact same story as MKT, so it wasn't just to make Trilogy seem complete.

Classic Sub-Zero is the original Sub-Zero from MK1. At least that's how I take it.

One thing I know for certain is that they never completed or answered if it really was the original Sub-Zero back from the dead or what.

Well, heres how I'm looking at it...

If they ever make a final MK game or one of the final ones, what they probably should do to add intrigue into the plot is to have the elder Sub-Zero only seem like he was killed. Say after the battle with Scorpion, he only went into seclusion for many years only to watch certain events unfold before his eyes and have the older brother confront the younger brother and basically kill him off.

Sub-Zero (elder) and Scorpion would possibly wage their final battle to end the story once and for all, but it's merely a suggestion and in my head it makes some sense.

But I'm going to ask, would it make any sense? I just think it's a possible and plausible ending to one of the biggest and best feuds in video gaming.

That's not a bad idea. Only thing I say is that C.Subby was killed since Scorpion was said to have killed him and I doubt Scorpion would have left without making sure it was a fatal blow or even an instand death(Toasty probably). Also I think he was killed and went to some sort of Limo(the blue portal since it's named after him). Maybe when he was killed instead of going to hell he got lost which would explain he never really losing his body or dying fully.

I think that's what happened. It would be great to see them finally fight once and for all. Maybe they both die during the fight since I would hate to see Scorpion be killed without getting his revenge for his family or living on forever in torment. So he could get revenge and be at peace once and for all. Or maybe Scorpion lets it go and Sub-Zero takes after his younger brother(Sifu), but that's all after they fight of course. smile

My thing is C. Sub-Zero would out of nowhere confront his brother, probably kill him off and probably wouldn't bother with the Lin Kuei. If he did bother with the LK, he would probably be in it for himself and not for the good of anything else. Eventually Scorpion gets hold of some information one way or another finding out about the younger Sifu Sub-Zero being killed off by his older brother, mainly because he was shocked and surprised to find out he was alive but didn't know his brothers intentions before being put down.

He would probably be put down for being aligned with Scorpion despite Scorpion only protecting him for supposedly putting down the first Sub-Zero and it would eventually leading to a battle that leads to Scorpion possibly getting revenge on Sub-Zero, killing him off completely and possibly later on or previously before killing off Sub-Zero, killing Quan Chi.

Afterward, Scorpions soul would be at rest and it would be one possible piece to ending a feud that was one of the most storied in video gaming.
