It's always interesting to get people's perspectives on this.
After a weak performance by Shan Tsung in MK1,
Shao Khan seems to make a strong debut and puts a forocieous battle in MK2 and MK3
However, in MK4, Shinnok seems to have a weak performance after he walks through from the Netherrealm...
In MK5, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung seem to put a dominating performance after killing Lui Kang and Shao Khan ( allegedly)
But that's my biased spin on it. what is you're view of it???
And yes, if you feel the need to talk about a sub boss like Goro Motaro, etc., please feel free to elaborate. Thank you.

Nothing beats Shao Kahn in MK2. THAT was a boss.

Yeah, I would say Kintaro and Shao Kahn from MK2.
I would have to disagree. Shao Kahn was one of the easiest characters on MK2 to beat, at least for me. Kintaro was a bitch though. I think MK3 Kahn was much harder than MK2 Kahn, but Moloch was also a hard fight for me in DA.
So, out of all of those the most difficult would probably be Shao Kahn in MK3 and Moloch from Deadly Alliance.

I never played against the comp much but I'd have to say Kahn in MK2. It might just be that when I played him I was terrible at it but it seemed more difficult then shang or Kahn in MK3. In MK3, you can pretty much duck, run in combo against kahn and kill him most of the time pretty easily that way. Plus there are really cheap cpu combos that work on him.

MK3 Kahn, possibly Onaga if you fight as crappy Shujinko.
Gameplay wise to defeat, for me:
The MOST Difficult:
1- Shao Kahn (Mk3) Most difficult of them all, he game me some big headaches.
2- Shang Tsung (MK1) Not that difficult, but hard sometimes.
3- Shang Tsung/Quan Chi (MKDA) Not hard, not difficult at all now, but problematic if you are new to the game.
The EASY Guys:
1- Shao Kahn (Mk2) He was a joke, the easiest of all bosses.
2- Shinnok (Mk4) not hard at all, but Mk2 Kahn is still easier.
3- Onaga (Bah, easy and boring)

You all know that they upgraded Kahn for Umk3?
Mk3 Kahn:= Could be difficult, but with Sub-Zero all you had to do was freeze him. Beating him with other characters was challenging but not too hard.
UMk3: Super aggressive! Can't freeze him with Sub-Zero! I have only won one round against him ever... Until I used Noob... Then I kicked his ass!

The rule reason Kahn was tough is that in MK3, you onlyhad bad characters to work with, cept for you know Cyrax and Zero/Sheeva. The rest you would have to be a button masher to win with. Lets face it Kang sucks monkey butt.

MK3 Shao Kahn was hard as hell

i pick kintaro and mk3/umk3 kahn. and for the record i thought onaga was easy with the clone man (damn he sucks, konquest shouldve been about something else). his combos alone made onaga easy. in any case, all of the bosses are easy now since they're patterns are known but back in the day i hated fighting kintaro. i could only beat him with shang and his triple fireball.
let me say that it *really* matters what version of the game you are playing (and of course what difficulty level)...
MK2 on Genesis was much easier than the PC version... on the original 1993/94 PC version on *very easy*, it was nearly impossible to beat Kintaro. I think I only beat Kintaro two or three times, and I think the best I've done against Shao Kahn is win 1 round. Also, you gotta remember back then, they had a limit of 30 credits, so that made it even worse (more tension, less chance)... i think the newer PC revisions that they released were a bit easier however, its been a while since i've played...

MK1 - Shang Tsung and Goro were the easies bosses in the entire series.
MK2 - Shao Kahn was difficult but could be beaten but Kintaro was easy as hell.
MK3 - Okay Shao Kahn at his best hardest of all in the series but Motaro was easy.
MK4 - Shinnok gimme a break easiest next to Shang Tsung in MK1 but Goro was pretty easy
MK:DA - Shang Stung and Quan Chi were pretty hard but then can be beaten fairly. Moloch was a piece of cake.
MKD - Onaga is hard for me for some reason, I think he is the second hardest boss ever next to Kahn in MK3. Noob - Smoke were a challege though but fair.
