Hey, I'm a newbie. What's up.
I searched for this, so if it's been touched upon already, my apologies...

I did but I guessed I missed it. But mainly I just wanted to know and then I was going to leave... not looking to join any communities so I really didn't care. Thanks for the help though.

Originally, Outworld won MKII, and MK3/4 weren't official MK tournaments, but the story was retconned to give Liu Kang 4 tournament victorys for MK1, II, 3, and 4.

Ahh, cool thanks.
And I changed my mind. I think I'll stick around, so I'll go give that FAQ a second look.

I didn't mention DA, as that was only a small, village tournament, won by Li Mei. Deception was a war against Onaga, and Armageddon was Taven/Daegon vs. Blaze.
My answer was referring to the text from Liu Kang's Tomb, which says it has 4 emblem's representing Kang's 4 MK victorys. The 4 victorys are a retcon over the original story(before Tobias left) that had Kang winning 1, losing II, then winning against Kahn, and Shinnok's invasions(MK3/U3/T(Trilogy being the final MK3 canon), and 4), which have been retconned to count as MK tournaments.
Ever since Tobias left, MK's story has been retcon, after retcon. IMO, it seems like they're retconing out Tobias' contributions to MK.

Liu kang 4 victories are shang tsung,Shao kahn x2 and Shinnok.
In the storyline is written the word "Tournament"(for instance the Mk3 intro, where you can read "...but there was souls that kahn Cannot take, these sousl belongs to the warriors chosen by rayden to represent earthrealm in a new Mortal kombat(-not written-tournament).
why i deduct the word Tournament?
'cause Mk is a tournament, however the 4 victories of Liu Kang aren't tournament, but just victories.
there are a lot of holes in the mk storyline.
however in the Official MK Storyline(forgot the link...) is clearly stated that ONLY the first two games were tournament, instead all the games were WARS between two factions,Light vs Darkness.
about MKDA as you said ...it's right!
Mk DA wasn't a tournament, but it was just a secondary plot to give more importance to li mei.

Tetra: I'm not sure where you got the idea that Outworld won MK2. If it won MK2, the whole plan involving Sindel would have been pointless. If you read Shao Kahn's MK3-MKT bio, it makes it clear that Shang Tsung failed to win Earthrealm through MK1 and MK2. Liu Kang's bio states that he has thwarted Shao Kahn's schemes in the past, hence being the main target of his extermination squads. And considering how Liu Kang had kept his Mortal Kombat Champion status, which is supported in his MK4/MKG bio, Liu Kang did indeed win MK2.
lastfighter: The whole MK victory thing is a bit confusing. I personally like to think of Mortal Kombat as not simply a tournament but also a martial challenge, not unlike the whole Xiaolin Showdown thing, for those of you who are the slightest bit familiar with the show. Personally, I don't consider MK3-MKA to being Mortal Kombat tournaments despite MK3 and MKA having had slight references to the use of the word "tournament".
Given the nature of MK3's and MKA's stories, I'd say they are hardly tournaments. MK4 seemed clear enough to not be a tournament, especially Raiden referring to it as a war. So with that being said, I'm pretty sure it's more likely that Liu Kang's 4 Mortal Kombat victories are 2 victories earned from winning Mortal Kombat tournaments and 2 victories earned from challenging someone to Mortal Kombat.
