yeah during e3 1995/6 it was revealed a more updated version,in that the game was at least identical to actual MKtrilogy,but instead of JOhnny Cage pic there was a "?".

if that is truly the beta its a shame it didn't have tremor in it, i guess they cut him from the game before even the beta

What do you mean if it is *truly* the beta?

These are not fake images; they belong ot an older, incomplete version of the MKT we now know. Originally, Johnny cage was not in the game because Midway lost the rights to using his MK2 material (which is what they used to make Raiden and Baraka without having to do extra motion captures). They were also lazy in making the portraits at the time, and just modified Sub-Zero's and Reptile's MK2 portraits to make ones for Rain and Noob Saibot, respectively.
The whole Tremor bullshit also started here; the Lin Kuei bio that was made for Rain was some how picked up by the fans to be Tremor's bio. I have no clue where this started, but the whole Lin Kuei becoming a member of Shao Kahn's army was Rain's original story, not Tremor; Tremor was never meant to be in MKT.

When I saw this back in the day, I thought they were going to make an arcade version, but when I heard about it, to me, Trilogy sounded like all three MK Arcade (1, II and U3) games on one disc as a collection.

I thought it would hit the arcades as well, and I was hoping it would, as at the time, I didn't have an N64 or PS. I bought the N64 version, though and it turns out it's a crappy version. I only bought that one because I hated the loading times.
