Why didnt and what if MK2 had fatalities for the secret characters?
I was lookin on the net and found pics of some MK2 trading cards. The ones of Smoke, Jade, Noob, Kintaro, and Shao Kahn all had fatalities. So I got to thinking, what if MK2 came back out on some kind of classic MK compilation, updated in graphics to look arcade perfect and no glitches. I believe that if they did this that all of the secret characters from MK2 should be able to have fatalites and have fatalities done on them. And sprites wouldnt be a problem. They could easily use sprites already on there for the fatalities. Like this one I made for example.
(Smoke fills his opponent with smoke, causing them to explode)

Nice made up fatality. I don't see it happening because MK II is such a old/classic game. Midway would only re-release it like MAT 2 to make some quick dinero. I don't think Midway would spend time remaking a game that is 12 years old.
All of the MK games, especially the arcade versions, where developed under a strict deadline. The hidden characters were some of the last work done on the game so often they just ran out of time when it came to details like moves and fatalities. In a lot of cases the hidden characters were so late in development they were not even in the initial versions of the game.

I like your fatality Idea, you should make a animation of it.

That's a pretty cool fatality, the image is too small though I can't really tell what Smoke is doing. Looks like he's shooting some smoke from his hand inside of them and they inhaled too much.
Yeah when i got that pic hosted it made it real small. But its got Smoke he walks over and i took his spear throw sprite so he looks like hes got his hand on their mouth. Then smoke starts comming from there head. Then he backs off as they get real fat, but they dont get fat real fast like in Kitana's kiss of death. Each time they get fatter more smoke starts puffing from them and then when they start to split apart a lot starts comming and then they blow up.
Heres one I made for Jade. Again, using sprites already in the game. Could easily be done.
Jade throws her fan which goes through the character. The opponent turns with a big split through them and falls in two pieces.
