with xbox360 arcade comiing out and midway having 4 games for its release will they blow there chance to bring umk3 online finally. I for one hope they realize how bad people want this, and now hav no reason or excuses not to drop the roms for umk3 wavenet and give us our game.

xbox 360 was hyped up more than any system ever, already ive seen ratings on gamespot i am seeing 8.0s and 6.6s, i think every game should be damn near perfect if the system can do what they say it can do. and about mk on the 360 prolly will be overlooked

Its hard to tell where all this will go. Has there been any word on whether Xbox live arcade will be a way to play those games online? Right now it looks like its all tiny/old games without online support. Midways contributions are Joust and Robotron, which means they have a few generations of historical games to get through before they get close to UMK3.
Right now it doesn't look like anything really interesting is coming out for it. I'm sure tons of stuff will pop up for it and some will be cool, but right now it looks like they are going after Real Arcade or something.
360 in general isn't showing off anything really revolutionary right now. I wasn't expecting to really be moved to buy it right away because MS has a history of not making games I like, but I was expecting something more impressive then this.

The question is not "Will Midway drop the ball?"
It's "Does Midway have the ability to pick up the ball?"
It's "Does Midway have the ability to pick up the ball?"

That would be unacceptable.

Yeah, definately. That had just about all the gameplay wrongness of MK3 for SNES, just with more characters. Get pushed out of the corner when you are 2/3 screen away, easier infinites (Kung Lao hat spin....just the spin, don't need anything else), that whole game was a mess. Its a shame they couldn't pair up SNES' graphics with Genesis' gameplay.

It is official. Many of the arcade games you get for $5-$15 through Live Arcade ARE playable online against others, complete with voice chat.
I know netplay for computers is around and all and its easy and pretty much free, but still, if they were to start making classic fighters for this service, man would it be cool. I would love to see how good netplay UMK3 could get over Live. I know it would still depend on the parties involved but it seems like it should still be better then Kaillera.
This is all depending on my dream of them actually taking the time to make a netplay enabled version of UMK3 arcade. I guess there's no way of knowing if they really will (I guess deep down I assume they won't) but it is still nice to dream.
