With MK-MK3 comin out, will you still be able to do the DULLARD, test modes, and any cheats for MK3? If this has been addressed, my apologies.

Lol it isnt the sega genesis version
it's the ARCADE version
only codes/secrets in the arcade version will work

dullard (the blood code) obviously wont be needed

"DULLARD" wasn't the blood code, that was the button combination for the cheat menu. The blood code was A,B,A,C,A,B,B.

And you still didn't answer his question. I'm not sure if the cheat menu will be in the MK1 version of it. They will probably have all the settings that were in the cheat menu in a regular options menu, like for the computer to do a fatality after every match and all those other options you could configure in the original MK1.

That would be cool, especially a freeplay code.

There will be cheats in one form or another, 150% guaranteed.

I was thinking the same thing, about the cheats already being installed in the game. It would be weird to not have those after years of using them on the home consoles.

Just think of MAT1, and of course Namco Museum where the Pac Man games are. The Beta screen is in there from the actual arcade where you can determine the number of lives, and difficulty, etc. So I am sure they will do that for MAT2. Otherwise none of the games will be 100% identical to the arcade because they are missing the Beta Screen.

OMG, what is WRONG with you?
This is the ARCADE version! they're not going to have a cheat menu from the SEGA GENESIS version
so yes, I DID answer his question....I thought it was blatantly obvious but apparently not.

C'mon duh lol..
the arcade never had a limit on how many times you could play, like in the home versions.
Since you could put in quarters an infinite amount of times it's like freeplay on an emulator....so that's why they're making the setting freeplay by default

Only those that were in the arcade version. What cheats were in MK1? Other than like Reptile.

The arcade versions of these games never had cheat menus or anything where you could go to a menu and turn on one button fatalities or something silly

It's so easy to add an interface for cheats to the existing software. You can't complain about something being in the game that you don't have to see unless you activate it, it's not like the game is going to be tainted or something. Some kind of cheats will be available though, one way or another, not that I would bother using any.

No I agree, it'd be cool...but I doubt it since it wasn't in the arcade

Were there cheats for any games on the original Midway Arcade treasures? Was pause possible? Was ANYTHING possible that you couldn't do in the arcade just for the sake of convenience?

I don't know what kind of gui is going to be used for cheats, but there's definitely going to be something.

No, you're flatout wrong.
The game will have the original rom, with any original "cheats" or "codes" the original arcade games had, and a GUI game options menu which will change controller options, and other options the original arcade allowed for (by accessing the menu by F2 in mame, or dipswitches in the arcade) such as difficulty.

There will be no such game menus that are entirely new that allow for things like one-button kills, infinite fatality time, one button fatalities etc

It's the arcade version of the game
there will be NO new cheat menus
only what was in the arcade
this isn't some snes port or something
besides, this isn't like Ed Boon at the helm or something....it's just a cheap way to make money, they are going to be lazy about anything they can

Mike they are porting the Genesis version of the game, get it right. It's the only way they could fit 11 stages onto one DVD without having to make it a double set.
