yeah ii did that EXCEPT when i made it to reptile and i beat him when you drop to the bottom of the pit and beat reptile i SHOULD have unlocked him what happened

You can't play as Reptile in MK1. You can only play against him. Unlocking Reptile is nonexistent.

then how do you explain the blank spot and reptile's MK1 selection icon? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Are you serious? I looked at this one controler thing that lets you play MK1 and it says that there was a secret to unlocking him.

you can play as reptile only in snes version of mk1.

actually reptile was playable in MK1 ver 4.0

Actualy he wasn't fightable until 3.0 and the clues were put in 4.0 I'm sure they wouldn't put him as a playable chacter that early on. I wouldn't be as suprised if it happened a year later in a home version but deffinitely not in arcade.

Guys no Reptile to play as, unless you use Genie or whatever. The Blank space s there to make it look good. The symbol in the middle.

Thats an inverted icon of Sub-Zero used with color swap.

Mk was never officially playable unless you hacked the game with a cheat device. The blank space with the Dragon logo is a filler, you don't get any new fighters in MK1 aside from the seven starters.

This is the truth.

Kids, talk to your parents about Reptile, and they'll remind you that our savage, psychotic, brutal, scaly, friend is not playable via legal means in the first Mortal Kombat game, no matter what version you play.
