with everyone debating on bringing back certain characters, i noticed noone has talked about bring back the "Great" Kung Lao. for all of you out there that have extensive knowledge on the storyline of mortal kombat, is there any scenario possible they could create to bring him back?

also as far as the fighting system goes, i think this would be a great idea. instead of having three differnet fighting styles, they should make it possible to use moves from previous games. for example, when fighting with sub zero, you could be able to hit left on your controller and go back to the fighing system they used in mk3, mk4, or mkda. for new characters that havent been involved in 2-3 games, they should just leave them as is, with the 3 different fighting styles.
its just an opinion
what do you guys think?

Well Kung Lao was in MKDA and I thought he was great. I think two fighting styles and a weapon is good enough. With the 2D MKs everyone had the same moves--low punch, high punch, low kick and high kick so it wouldn't really add depth in my opinion.

I'm SO psyched about Baraka though!

I don't think he should return or if he does as a bonus charachter that can only be unlocked with a code and for the bio they can use his backstory (Kung Loa the great shoalin warrior that defeated Tsung and later defeated by Goro)...but he should not be given a story line that has anything to do with the current MK plot.

As far as ideas on fighting styles check out my post in the "Do you think MK6 will retain the same gameplay as MKDA?" thread by ultimateryu.

1)In response to youre first question, I believe kung lao has the reponsibility to take the place of kui Kang as hero. He is not dead, instead alive and well.

2) As for youre second question, its seems that mk6 is being built from scratch like I predicted, so they are moving away from everything else again. So well see.

I think when he says the Great Kung Loa he is talking about the original Kung Loa that was killed by Goro

Yep, MKC had the original Kung Lao, and he was pretty cool. Though nothing in the show can REALLY be drawn from, as their story for Scorpion is off and well, just about everyone dies at the end of the series...

I can't believe so many people thought you were talking about the Kung Lao from MKII/3/DA. I don't think his story would be an effective one, as he's there to be the legend that the new Kung Lao steps up to. But if the MK team want him in, it's not like resurrections don't happen on a daily basis...
