When in the village in Earthrealm, talk to the boy who lost his parents house key. The boy says something like someone may break in. Get the key from the park, then go into the boys house and you'll find a chest containing 250 ruby koins. You can either give the key back to the boy then or not at all. Just make sure you enter the house before you give him the key. I checked this twice and it works...
