3 console exclusive characters for MK6?

Maybe Midway can pull a Namco, and like SCII, add a character to MK6 that is exclusive to each console (PS2, xbox, GC). This strategy might significantly boost MK6 sales. I wouldnt mind it happening if it ensures the success of the MK franchise. I'd probably just rent the other 2 versions to see the new character.

no, no NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO MORE MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY WITH KHAMELEON ONLY FOR N64 AND CHAMELEON FOR PS1, damn, you would think that would boost sales, it didnt boost sales for mk trilogy, and with three consoles, it will proberly drop them down to nothing.

NOOOO!!! i personally wouldnt like that! Why would i want to buy 3 different versions of the game just to play with someone different?? I want each version to have the same of everything. Soul Caliber 2's character thing wasnt bad because those characters didnt fit in the game anyways since they came from different games. But i dont think MK should try to do something like that at all!!
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Why do it? If you mean exclusive MK characters to a game, then I say no. But if you mean secret guest fighters, that might work. But I really don't think it would be a good idea. It'd be best to keep the games the same. With exclusive characters, others miss out on a chance to play as the other people. I for one would prefer to have access to everyone.

That may very well be a possibility, because the creators of MK mentioned a possebility of platform specific code, mentioning that they will use each system's strenght to its advantage. So I wouldnt be too surprised.
I don't see what's wrong with that. Exclusive characters would add some interaction with other people.
Like say you and you buddies own different systems, you got Ps2 and your freinds all own different ones.
It would be like me saying what's the guy like in your game? and he'd be like you gotta come over to find out and I would do the same.
Plus the thing is going over the internet right?
So mabey the console exclusive fighters could fight each other, but you won't be able to play them, thus not being to be able to predict the other characters moves.
That idea would work very well if the online feature helped out.

No, no, hell no! Why should I have to buy 3 copies to get the full expirence? And besides there would be 4 characters, one for the PC version too. MK is better than that.

This would defintly suck, and who would be caracters exclusively to the consoles? Link was in SC, so he wnt be in MK, besides i don't want to see link or any other non MK caracter perform a bloody fatality.
If they would implement extra caracters they should make them from scratch, and not from copies of other games.

It's been done by Soul Calibur 2, so if they did that, it wouldn't be original. Even if they used MK exclusive characters, it would just plain suck for the guys who don't own more than one console.

I think it would add a sense of mystery which recent MKs were definitely lacking.

Only I would maybe give GC an extra fighter if it lacks online play.
Then I would give custom tracks to XBox.
I can't think of anything for PS2. If it was the only one to have online play then I would give 5.1 also to the XBox and PLII to Cube.

I don't think he means like Khameleon and Chameleon... I think he means "guest" fighters.
I don't think it would fit the MK style... but if they did I wouldn't mind

allow me to say something that might be a good idea for decepion.
you know that site that i have linked onto my sig?
well, you can now preorder it from stores like best buy or gamestop.
each preorder gets you a preorder exclusive power to use once the game comes out. each store has a differnt preorder power.
now..i not saying only guys who preorder should get exclusive chars. i'm saying that differnt retailers have differnt "versions":
game stop = apple
target = carrot
wal-mart = grape
and so on and so forth. it's all a mater of who you like.
cool huh?

so rather than explore an option that "may" add some more depth to MK, most of you it appears would rather piss all over the idea?
Might as well grab a shovel and start filling in the grave because I doubt this is the last of the ideas to spice up the MK franchise and attract new customers/players/fans.
Granted, nothing was said by the developers and no press release even mentions console specific characters, but you can't expect the developers to NOT make an attempt to make the game more appealing or make a move to generate more revenue.
The MK franchise is my all time favorite game, of any medium! It needs the support of it's existing fanbase to continue and a larger fan base (read: new fans) to keep it alive.
