A challenger appears! (please help me to get better at the game without owning the game)

Hello,
my brother bought MK vs. DC, and considering i am poor, i just rented it. I played it and i found myself decently good, but i cant settle for that. this will be an epic battle and the winner has huge bragging rights. Now my brother is in the army, and he comes down in a week for a christmas break. Of course i told him to bring the game with him, and told him i'de kick his ass. and, of course, he disagreed, and we fought about it over the phone for about a half hour. Anyways, the point is, i was wondering if any one knew how i could get better at this game, without actually having it to play, WITHOUT being cheap.

Lazy? : how do i get better at MK vs DC without actually being able to play it?
You can learn the commands for moves, but you need the game to practice.

Play other fighting games or old MK games to get an idea of what to do in general.

Watch people play the game on youtube.

sad i dont have any old MK games, even though i was considering buying a ps2 (again) and buying the 3 pack thing. too bad im broke furious

Suggest finding some easy work then thinking what to do with earnings.

When done then suggest youtube.com to help doing kombo challenges then work your way up. Consistancy and wisdom is the key young one wowwowwow.

Okay, first of all, how are you that poor? You have an xbox or ps3 to play the goddamn game, you have a computer, and you pay for electricity and all your other shit. And, to answer your question practice the combos.

Yeah something doesn't smell right, how could you buy even a used PS2 and the old games for less than this game costs?
