Well, if some of you remember, I emailed the head of the company and their editor as well with our concerns, here's what I got back just about an hour ago!

Dear Mike,

We feel all of our customers needs must be met, but due to the way we've constructed the Mortal Kombat Deception strategy guide, there may or may not be some difficulties in meeting the fans' needs. Midway has asked us to keep some things secret, therefore some characters will not appear in our comprehensive guide. The art and renders used in the handbook are those given to us by the Mortal Kombat team, we have no control over that. Although, we have looked through the link you had given us and saw no requests, so there's nothing we can base your claim on. We apologise. Have a good day.

Sincerely,
BradyGames Publishing

There was other shit listed at the bottom about contacting them, but I really didn't feel like doing anything else. If there was a powerful thread on it, and many more of us were to email them then we'd probably get what we want.

Damn... I hope it doesn't end up like MKDA's final secret... And not all the cahracters are gonna appear there? That blows.
[EDIT: I'm not mad that I won't be able to find all the secrets. I'm mad cuz I wanted a comprehensive guide with all the characters' info in it.]

This pisses me off actually, and it's okay that they're keepin' stuff secret but I'd like to see all the characters. I hope to sketch and stuff off the pictures and stuff. I love the pics and renders, and I was just hoping for a Comprehensive guide. Although, if you check the wording...It could mean that just like "Jade, Etc" and whoever that isn't on the screen won't appear in the guide, which kinda' pisses me off.

Shit, this is great, IMO. Finally, a bit of MK-ism back. Back in the MKII days, we didn't have no strategy guides, and that's what made Noob Saibot, Smoke and Jade mysterious.

There were about 4 different guides covering MK 2 when it came out. I don't know where you're from, but I'm pretty sure I had one or two of'em lyin' around. They came out days before the game, as well.

He meant for the arcade. That's when playing was fun and you didn't have to get spoon fed everything.

I read somewhere that it will be out on the day MKD is released. Although they could make changes and make it earlier or later.

Great News!! Keep the secrets.. secret. Awesome.

I'm gonna love only knowing bits and pieces, then going online to learn more. Wow, how'd you do that? Maybe, even figuring something out myself to share with others. It would be so cool to hop on one day and see a character or fatality that I have never seen b4. This kind of thing makes people keep comin' back, and brings longevity to the game.

If I had known everything, the first day at the arcade, when MK came out; I wouldn't have continued to pop quarters into that machine, hone my skills, or grow to love the game as much as I do.

Brings the arcade feel back for me, I like it.

It's bad enough the games no longer take months to uncover everything because of the internet. I remember playing FF6 for the first time on SNES not knowing a damn thing about the game. Now when a game comes out it is expected to have a strategy guide at launch, not to mention the people that will sit there and copy things out of the guide and post it on gamefaqs or whatever just so every one knows (and recognition).

I think that is the crappy thing. So I say kudos to Midway for wanting to keep secrets. Let us all have to actually work for something. Let us all have to experiment to find combo's and moves.

GameFan created the Greatest Mortal Kombat Trilogy guide, probably the most correct, in depth, best looking guides for the Mortal Kombat series I've ever seen.

nah that was the easy part. The hard part was figuring out what moves they learned at what level. I dont know if you tried to insult me because I used to like the franchise, but it didnt work. Your childish jokes dont really amuse me.

Actually, blackwizard, I believe Versus Books has been out of business for about two years. A shame, because I wanted to see a guide for the new Pokemon series.
