I don't have the game yet (it's not out in Europe until next month), but already I've caught sight of the main spoiler regarding Noob Saibot and how he is in fact the original Sub Zero.
I've had suspicions about this sort of thing for ages.
It started way back when I played Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the Sega Saturn. I remember there was a special Kombat Zone which was a blue version of the Portal called
Cisslac Busorez
Realizing that this was written and made up exactly the same as Noob Saibot, I figured that Noob and Classic Subzero were connected somehow. Delving deeper into this mystery, it occurred that Noob Saibot made his first appearence in MK2. In this game, he is a hidden fightable enemy alongside Jade and Smoke.
When you performed the requirements to fight these hidden characters, a message was shown alluding to the fact that these secret characters were also present in the MK1 tournament. In MK1, Reptile was hidden. but once he was found numerouse glitches could happen - which is what I think Jade and Smoke were referring to. Noob however is different...
I knew he HAD to be in the MK1 tournament, but all the MK1 cast were accounted for - everyone was in the game with the exception of Sonya and Kano who were tied up... but then it hit me!
In Sub Zero's ending it explains (what is well known now) that the original Sub Zero was killed and that he was his younger brother. I GUESSED way back then that Noob was a specter, much like Scorpion, of the man who used to be Sub Zero (figuring the wraith thing would work both ways).
---
Anyhow, that was all in the past. I often come up with theorys for people or characters in MK (as do many of you I've noticed), but this is the closest I have ever been just guessing and thinking, but come on, surely I can't be the only one who figured it out in advance.
Did anyone else 'realise' who Noob was before the truth was officially revealed?
Peace!

Yeah, man, I think they knew what they were doing with Noob from the start.

Hehehe... and most of us thought the ones who supported this theory where nutcases....
I'm actually thinking the MK team made this twist FROM the fan rumors... after all... they copied a fatality out of a fanart...

I always thought Noob Saibot was just Tobias-Boon spelled backwards for Tobias and Boon the MK creators. No real character.
And you know Ermac was just an error in MK1 or 2 with Scorpion... it turned him red and said "ER MAC" which meant "error macro." They actually developed it into a character.

It's a known fact that MK listen to fans and then make some fan theories canon.

Maybe that is his name for no reason, but it is still possible for him to be the original Sub Zero's spectre. They just gave him that name because is was, well, you know, cool.

What ever happend to Tobias? You notice that sense it seems he's been gone (is he still around or did he leave MK development ?) that they've been calling Noob-Siabot just Noob... I thought it was that way in one other game but maybe this is the first one.

Tobias left Midway to form Studio Gigante (I think that's the name). They released Tao Feng for Xbox.

Okay, call me crazy, but I never -ever- once heard this Noob is Sub-Zero theory before this week, but now it seems like since they said so in the ending, everyone and their brother is saying, "Yeah, I knew it all along."
I personally am setting out a call of, "Yeah Right, BS" on the lot of you. Am I the only damn person that can admit they had no idea.

I remember someone on this forum thinkin up this before deception came out as a prediction...seems they were right after all smile I dont see any reason why there couldnt be noob as subby...That means there has never been a character that went away forever...i think

Actually, wheter he did or didn't turn out to be Noob, he still wouldn't have been gone forever, since he was in UMK3 and MKT. Though now I guess it turns out his ending was true, since it said he removed his mask and was someone else who had been missing since an older tournament. So I guess the one in Trilogy was never really him in the 1st place, which would mean there are 3 sub-zeroes, which is entirely too confusing for me, so I'm just finally going to turn to the side of all the people that said his appearance in MKT wasn't canon. Unless in some future ending they reveal who that person he was in his ending was. Then I'll consider it Canon again... er... yeah...
IN ANY EVENT, yes. He still would have been there more then once.
And even if he hadn't, this wouldn't make him the only character to be gone and stay gone. Technically, any character not in deception right now, qualifies as a character who is gone, and has stayed gone. Even if you only meant characters who have stayed gone since their debut game, that still leaves Stryker, Sheeva, Motaro, Rain, Chameleon, Khameleon, Fujin, Jarek, Shinnok, Reiko, Kai, Meat, Mavado, Hsu Hao, Frost, Nitara, Sareena, Drahmin, Moloch, Blaze, & Mokap to prove my point. (Assuming you count alternate versions such as MK3, UMK3, & MKT all as one game, which even if you don't, still leaves a few of those folks)

Now that Pobatti mentioned Cisslac Busorez, it all makes sense. Except for the little screw up in UMK where both Noob and Classic Sub are present, but hey everybody screws up once in a while.
