No, Scorpion was Killed in MK1 but then Revived as a Spectre, which shamefully started the imfamous "no one stays dead in MK world" rule. Dammit Scorpion!

This is the deception all along,great discovery!

I haven't played MKM-Sub-zero in a while so please, stick with me. ok here it goes.... in MKM-SZ Quan Chioffersthe Lin Kei a deal. Quan Chi wants/hires someone in the Lin Kei(Sub-zero) to recover theamulet of Shinnok.The Lin Kei wants in return to kill off there rival clan( scorpion's clan). Sub-zero is sent to China to recover a map that tells where the elments are to get something to help him to get the amulet( the same amulet that is the source of Shinnok's power when he was an elder god. Once in side the temple in which the map is located Sub-zero encounters Scorpion and kills him. Within the middle of the game Raiden incounters Sub-zero tells what bad things will happen if Quan Chi returns the amulet to Shinnok. I forget what happens either Sub-zero gives bad the amulet before or after he encounters Raiden, either way he jouneys to hell and back to get the amulet back which he does and gives it back to Raiden. Then Raiden hides it. Here is what I don't remember either Raiden gives knowing or unknowngives a fake amlet. then Sub-zero gives that amulet to Quan Chi. Also at that time Quan Chi gives to the Lin Kuei grandmaster he heads of Scorpion's family and clan. I think you can find the 100% truth at the MK bible above in the games section.I would like to also notice during the same time Sub-zero gives Quan Chi the amulet and Quan Chi gives the Lin Keiu grandmaster the heads of Scorpion's clan. An old man comes in (Shang Tsung) makes an offer to the grandmaster to let Sub-zero to fight in his upcoming torneyment. Of course Sub-zero never makes it back since Scorpion kill him in the torney. Check the MK comic in MK: DA in the events that lead up to Sub-zero travel to the torney where he meets Scorpion ( dead/spector) for the 1st time since his death.

Sub-Zero was never meant to fight in the tournament in the original Mortal Kombat. Sub-Zero's mission was to assasinate Shang Tsung to recieve a high reward. Sub-Zero was going to retire from the Lin Kuei after his last mission but Scorpion killed him before he completed it.

He was meant to fight in the tournament, that's the only way he could get close to Shang Tsung to kill him.

When Sub-Zero 1st kills Scorpion he is human, Scorpion returns later in the game, as a spectre for the first time, Sub-Zero wins the first ever fight between Himself and spectre Scorpion.

Scorpion kills Sub-Zero in their second fight in MK1

The whole amulet thing revolves around Quan chi, when Sub-Zero gets the amulet he gives it to Quan Chi.

Quan Chi makes a copy of the amulet and gives the copy to Shinnok and keeps the real 1.

Raiden tells Sub-zero to get the amulet back, Sub-Zero gets the copy off Shinnok and gives it to raiden, no-one knew that there was a copy and that Quan Chi had the real 1 the whole time.

I think Quan Chi creates a 2nd copy and gives it to Shinnok, which is why Shinnok has 1 in MK4, but the whole time to this day Quan Chi has the real one.
