i inverted the colors on this clip and it appears the character is holding some kind of 'brief-case' and wearing a hat like kung lao's. I'm not saying it's him because he's pretty scrawny, but you never know.

I don't think that was an in game picture guys. It looks more like a picture of the MK: Team in the parking lot...

That footage probably has nothing to do in the game. If you look closely in the trailer you'll notice there are some outdoor shots (specifically of a rock with MK and the dragon logo painted into it) which you can clearly see trees and buildings in the back. This shot seems to be taken just to fill the trailer with nice shadows to mess with the fans since they knew we would start speculating...
