When you get a stage weapon, you lose with when you switch stances. If you pick it up as Noob, Smoke cant have it because if you switch it will be gone. You can however do special moves where Smoke comes out to help, but they cant both have it no.

i thought the stage weapon would just replace your weapon stance, i guess that makes it fair
