All you RAIN fans know that he'll be nothing more than a pallet-swap.

And I don't mean as a fighter. I don't believe he'll be a selectable character. He just doesn't have the originality or fan-base (edit: well, neither did Nightwolf). But, as I've seen in KONQUEST mode, where he is confirmed to be, all the ninjas are pallet-swaps, and I think Rain will just be one, too. Don't expect anything big.

I would happily accept him looking no different than MKT and I'm not even a big Rain fan. He'd be like the heritage ninja, lol.

Biggest reason I want Rain in is because every other ninja is back, and I think Rain fans will feel like they are getting the shaft if he isn't there in playable form. Plus if they DID make him look different, his moves would look good in 3D (aside from the kick, that although worked somewhat in 2d, would have to go).

every one in konquest will be a lightly detail model. look at reptile and subzero in konquest, they don't have that much detail to them.

no one will be special, most will be swaps

Likely Reptile, Ermac, Noob & Smoke... and all evolved to original and good looking characters...

From what I could tell Classic Sub-Zero and Reptile had the same faces, so it's just colours as usual then grin

You can't have a MK without pallette swaps, it just wouldn't be right

mmmmmm

Maybe that blue-clad warrior talking to Shujinko is just another LK member (one different from Sub).

Anyone else suspect that this whole Shujinko guy might make things confuzzling? What with him being younger than Scorpion in one shot... and when you play as him in Kombat mode is noticeably older than everyone.

How would Rain still be a pallet swap if he was in MKD? Everyone has there own distinctive looks and moves now. I'm sure Rain would be completely freshed if he was in MKD.

Rain will probably only be in Konquest. That, alone, sucks.

Thats because Konquest mode is played during Shujinko's life, it lasts around 50 years.

The parts were Shujinko is a kid is pre-MK1

true, that'd be cool if as you go through konquest with Shujinko all the characters that you see looks change through all thier costumes up until MKD.

That post alone just took what you had and threw it right out of the window thread starter.

A pallet swap is when you take a character (classic sub zero for example) and you take the color pallet... you know that box full of colors in photoshop? and you replace the blue with yellow to make scorpion but the character model as a whole is ideally the same.

this is the ps2 were talking about here. i think were way past pallete swapping! every char. gets their own unique look now in full 3d. im not a big rain fan but i could own in mkt with him and his roundhouse. if they make him playable, i say bring back all his moves one way or the other in full 3d... somehow... peace wow

All you noobs listen up! Pallet-swap meens nothing to me.... Sub-Zero and Scorpion were pallet swaped till MK4 and they were still unique characters.... Not because of their outfit, but because of their storyline and abilities, special moves, fatalityes. These are the things why MK was so successful. Just look at MK Trilogy.... Suby, Scorp, Rain, Noob, Smoke, Ermac, Reptile.... They were all pallet swaped, created by one actor (John Turk), and they were still unique characters. Unique not just for me, but for all the other old MK fans who didn't matter about the visual effects and graphics as much as about the storyline and MK World.... Just think little about that....

People keep stating that Rain won't be a pallet-swap 'cause no fighter is in MK:D. Akon said that the characters are pallet-swaps in KONQUEST mode, which is where he'll be, for sure. Chances are, that's all he's going to be, visually, at least. Fatality.

MK:D Kollectors Edition is adding 15 other classic MK characters. Rain has to be one of them.
