Well there certainly should be. I"m not going to complain about it if there isn't, but the MK team knows that alt costumes are one of those little perks that the players love. There's not much reason to leave them out unless they were really pressed for time. It doesn't appear like they were though since it went gold way ahead of launch date.

One valid reason I can see if they don't is if DC comics wouldn't allow it. That's understandable, but way too protective of cannon for my taste.

Besides, when sub zero looks like the shredder on ice (deception) or a thug right out of a really bad gang movie (deception alt), we really need that 2nd...or 3rd option.

Well... I've seen Scorpion with his normal render mask and then with a skull mask/head.

That's after taking facial damage during the match, not another costume.

Last I recall, Ed said they'd only able to do alternate player 1/player 2 color changes, because the process of getting designs okay'd by DC was too long and complicated to allow for alt costumes to be created.

I think what you saw was a result of the new damage effect in the game. Scorpion's mask can get knocked off during a fight.

I dont think there will be alts, just colour templates for the time being, I think DLC is possible tho.

Though, DLC opens that possibility.

That's a shame. Should have just given the MK characters alternate costumes in that case.

That wouldn't be fair to DC and the fans though. The game is trying to equally present both universes and that's not the right direction to jump at, excluding one side from content (AHEM... EUROPEANS). I'm ok with different colors/shades/palettes... just like good ol' MKII days.

Yeah, but its because of DC that THAT didnt happen.

So, it would be great to see the DC fans very angry and upset towards DC because of their lame annoyance and make DC realize they shouldn't be sooooo complicated.

There shouldn't be any reason why there isn't any proper alts in the game.

I do remember Ed saying "If two people play as Superman, they will have different colourations."

But then I've heard they want to add Red Son (Russian Superman), Cutface Joker and Dark Knight Returns Batman as DLC.

Even if it degenerates to the DC side fighting under their real life personas (Bruce Wayne, Diana Troy, Clark Kent etc...) then that is better than nothing.

But I think its going to be a cheap way to get extra money. You'll be able to get "Classic Sub Zero Unmasked" as well as "Cutface Joker". And they will get the money too.

I wish the DC side had true identity Alt costumes. I never really thought about it until *JohnBoyAdvance* mentioned it. Maybe after you beat the game with each character, you unlike there true identity outfit. That would make a lot of sense.
Besides that, I would love to see these costumes;
-MK Deception Sub-Zero(Shredder type outfit)
-Dark Knight Batman, and Joker
-Batman Returns Catwoman

Well I guess if the game sells well there's a good chance that Warner Bros. will let them loan the Dark Knight Batman and Joker. It makes good money I tell you
